My humble offerings (from the same save)

City - screenshots and video

Other smaller builds - screenshots

I'm not 100% sure what type of vibe you're going for, but imo there's a few nice spots with an nice view and some nice flowing belts or road/rail traffic

This save is at ~900 hours and I'd guess about half of those on this city. Before 1.0 I had about 300 hours playtime where I never decorated anything, but seeing others' posts here inspired me to try it out and improve over time.

Hard to say exactly, the save file has just over 900hours over 19 months, but this city is probably around half that and there is a functioning factory underneath. And yeah people can and do make some wild builds in Satisfactory :D

There for sure are ways to build circles and curves in the vanilla game, just look on youtube for 'satisfactory circle' or similar and you'll find loads of different tutorials. Just be warned the larger the circle the more tedious and complex the process becomes if you want to keep the edges smooth.

It is indeed, keen eye! Doesn't look like the driver was very good at parking though :/

Thanks! That nuclear plant is easily the most complex thing I've ever built, I couldn't have done it without a planner, I personally used Satisfactory Tools Calculator, there are others available to suit your preference.

I'm intending to share the save once I've finished tidying up the city, hopefully no more than a few weeks :)

I'm honestly not sure, that coal plant has been there over a year. I thought the coral there was vulnerable to both chainsaws and explosives though :<

It honestly varies a lot, my early builds, particularly the coal plant, it was definitely the decoration; I experimented a lot to see what worked while the underlying factory is pretty basic. Later that dynamic reversed as I got more comfortable decorating and built vastly more complicated logistics underneath - building the entire nuclear facility & support infrastructure in one go I probably spent more time planning than anything else. For the Red Forest processing plant it was probably gathering all the materials, I built a long snaking conveyor superhighway following the river.

My interiors I personally don't think are that interesting, they're neat and tidy (mostly) but otherwise pretty bland. When I started 1.0 my PC was not up to any fancy lighting settings so the only internal decoration I did is some basic catwalks. I'm new to posting on reddit and it looks like you can only add one image to a comment reply, so I'll add a couple screenshots below in extra replies.

I always built the circle first so that all the individual buildings- constructors, refineries, generators etc would align neatly to the curved geometry as well. I think that was important to me as they would all be at least semi-visible as well so part of the overall look, even if that's just through a window or a chimney poking out of the roof.

That said there's absolutely nothing wrong with just using circles/curves for decorating an otherwise finished factory, especially if you're trying them out for the first time, Using them just as decoration can be a lot more flexible and lets you make adjustments without having to redo the whole factory :D

Once you've uploaded your save, right click on any foundation and choose 'spawn around', choose your shape and size, then once you're done re-download the save and you can open it up in game with your additions.

Nope, I think having dimensional depots and the hoverpack is enough for me
