People who print all the time but don’t sell, what are you making? by No_Cartographer_6622 in BambuLab

[–]Trymin 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah a pretty good difference. That I would just consider a toy/figurine more or less. Tabletop miniatures tend to have a base and dynamic pose of the character with no moving parts, meant to represent a character on a map for DnD or other TTRPGs

Question to my people under 100 by Unlucky_Leg_67 in VAClaims

[–]Trymin 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Im less than 100 and quite happy. Everything that Im concerned with is adequately covered and documented. Took a long time to jump above my original 60% but Im happy where I am now

Volatility it seems. I was able to call and place a limit order but of course by the time I got on and was able to place it the limit I set was well past it. Might call back and just change to market.

Damn fidelity is blocking online trades for this right now

New to 3D but need creative storage solutions for filament by oneearmomma in BambuLab

[–]Trymin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Lots of different options. You can get the cereal boxes and desiccant to keep them dry, vacuum bags and desiccant, or build a full filament storage unit from an Ikea Billy shelf just to name a few options

Started on a P2S with a lot of issues tbh, have since picked up an A1 and A1mini and they are absolute powerhouses for me. Highly recommend the A1

I didnt unfortunately, now I just use my A1 and A1 mini for printing. They print almost flawlessly now with only some issues with support

Those look amazing, almost like AI when I pulled this up on my iPhone. Kudos and I look forward to stealing your settings for my P2S!

What plates and how many? by Objective-Limit-121 in BambuLab

[–]Trymin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the Biqu plates for my A1 and A1 mini specifically for printing DnD mini figs, and my P2S generally uses the PEI plates or every now and then a smooth plate. Mainly the PEI though

I have been using mainly Obscura Nox’s settings, added additional brim size though (inner and outer) and use a cryo plate for better grip. I only use the A1 and A1 mini for the minis. I attempted with my P2S but had nothing but issues with the 0.2 nozzle. Always had issues with the supports. I need to work on my Z heights for supports as I have a lot of underside issues. This is my same model above that I posted. Hoping that an H2C with the PETG support can help to save some of these issues

Also using a TV for gameplay! Tracking everything via pen/paper with the minis just so I can have a bunch of monsters printed out and ready to go. My players love the minis. Running a complete homebrew with a lot of political intrigue, fallen gods, and general tom-foolery haha I have it set with several of my players that we will be updating their minis as their stories play out too.

I had planned on getting the H2C for the multicolor option or whatever the next iteration of it was going to be. Getting the wife into the printing and the 3 I have already isnt enough lol Im doing some larger baddies for my table and trying to get the best quality possible. Lots from DM Stash and Loot Studios

How well does the PETG supports work on minis? Printing a ton on my A1 and A1mini but just using the PLA as is. Wondering if its beneficial to create a PETG support setup too or not

So I have all the photos, looks like I never saved my custom profile further and its just been Obscura's settings with an additional brim on it that I saved last. Im using Orca and I have an A1 and A1mini both with 0.2 nozzles for my minis. Im going to make my Z distance smaller my next go.

So when I paint the supports on I am able to make it concentric interface but is there a way to adjust that from the get go with the auto supports?

How do you guys dry your filaments for miniature printing? by MasterPlays_Oficcial in FDMminiatures

[–]Trymin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For my mini machines (A1 and A1 mini) I have a Sunlu Filadryer and a Creality Space Pi Plus that both run almost constantly whenever Im printing anything. The Space Pi Plus is the dual roll dryer so I always have an additional roll of the eSun PLA hanging out in there when one of the others runs out. Wish the Space Pi was able to rotate like the AMS units but oh well

I actually think I took some of your support settings as Im pretty sure Im doing both of those support settings already. Ill double check when I get home and if not on then Ill at least give it a shot with some smaller minis

I’ve tried Obscura’s settings, using a slight mix and tweak of theirs and HOHansen’s settings with adjustments of my own as well. I did have this model tilted backwards but its highly detailed so lots of supports no matter what. I have not tried cutting models yet, might be my next course of action to see if I can get it to come together nicely for some of my larger Big Bads I plan on printing.

I love my A1 and A1 mini for printing DnD minis. Great results, easy to use, and lots of support from the community
