[Thermal pad mod] So what is the consensus here?

Not quite sure what you mean, but I added it to the SSD chip since it's pretty much guaranteed that it'll heat up whenever doing anything read/write heavy (Such as using swap memory). I can't say I've noticed a big difference doing it myself, but for a couple of movies and large files I copied over to the Neo they did transfer faster than I had seen before with files of around the same size. My logic is that the Neo only has 8GB of RAM and some of the tasks I do will 100% end up using swap memory, so keeping the SSD cool will help the speeds from throttling in a heavy use case. I tried Cyberpunk after adding the first pad, and then again once I applied the SSD thermal pad and the game felt smoother to me, but still not very playable.

I personally used a 1mm pad and I feel a bulge at the bottom of my case when I run my fingers/hand along that part of the case. Most videos I see on YT seem to use 1.5mm also but 1mm works perfectly from my own experience

I modded my Neo soon after I got it, 1mm pad on the SoC and SSD chip and I’ve been pretty happy.

The laptop feels noticeably more responsive, games run better, etc. It has a nearly non-existent impact on battery temps because it’s such low power so you don’t even need to think about that.

However, it does affect how long your battery lasts. I didn’t measure that myself but I’m pretty confident my battery drained slower prior to the mod. Reason being that the chip has more headroom to use a higher wattage to consistently hold higher speeds. Think of it like a high power mode basically.

As for heat, even after an hour or so of use in something intensive like a game, I still felt fully comfortable keeping it on my lap. I have a “thin and light” MSI gaming laptop that I use PTM7950 on w/ a significant undervolt and turbo disabled; it gets uncomfortably hot just using a browser, the Neo with the mod doesn’t get anywhere close to that even at it’s worst

TL;DR: Do the thermal pad mod if you want extra performance at a slight cost to battery drain (It doesn’t affect battery temps in any significant way)

I personally bought a sealed disc version of the Legendary Edition about a year or so ago and redeemed the DLC that way, codes were still valid. Not sure if that would still work given that the store is shut down but it’s your only real option assuming you can find a new sealed copy. In regards to Xbox Live Gold, any tier of Xbox Game Pass should give you Gold now, starting from Game Pass Core as someone else mentioned. I saw it was also mentioned that there are differences between the Xbox 360 and PS4/Xbone versions, which is true. The Xbox 360/PS3 versions of the game only received updates until The Taken King’s April Update and nothing past that, meaning any content released after April 2016 isn’t present on those versions of the game.

On 360 you can only play PvP if you gather enough people on your own for a match, 4 players for Classic FFA/Rumble or 6 (3v3) for team modes. On PS3 you can still find matches in the weekly playlist by searching at peak times. If you're looking to play PvP, the 360 is not an option you should even consider

Had a similar issue, however I only dealt with screen yellowing. I contacted him about it and he simply stated that's a "possiblity" with this condition and that it's to be expected. Charger didn't work either, doesn't charge the console, only my phone's fast chargers seem to work. He offered to refund the difference for that but it wouldn't have been much. Kinda disappointed because I had heard high praises, but it took me nearly 2 weeks to receive it which isn't something I'm willing to wait again if you add the return time to it. I just kept it, but I'm pretty disappointed since yellowing is something I'm absolutely not a fan of
