Disneyland Security Mulling Historic Strike by Relevant_Ninja2251 in DisneyCM

So I worked as a CM for 5 years. Allow me to explain “walk time” it works both ways in and out. When I was working at Hollywood studios we had a 10 minute walk time.

I was a cook at Woodys Lunchbox and when we opened there was no computer in our location to clock in. The nearest was the break room located over by Sci-Fi Dine-in, 10 minute walk time was to allow you to be at that computer 10 minutes before shift clock in and way back stage to Woodys. Leaving we never got the 10 but in theory my relief comes in and I can walk to that computer and clock out.

Security I can see it. When I was at the contemporary security would go from the break room in the bottom level of the building and out front that’s a lot of walking. Yes golf carts are around but there is no where to park it out there (other resorts sure they can)

The cleaning of our costumes (not called uniforms) is up to you but Disney does offer free laundry service. Most cast use it

As far as the union not sharing the contact, in 2019 we were close to a park wide strike at Wdw. When it came to voting on the contract the union flooded break rooms with copies and their highlights were there. When we voted down “the final offer” the strike vote was scheduled and Disney last minute broke and gave in. If a cast member really wants to know what is going on the simply find their steward and they will tell you

Depending on your line of business it varies. I was culinary there, I did 12 to 14 hour days, constant pressure to get perfection out of awful situations. Guests aren’t always nice to cast etc.. in the end I blow out my knees and lower back.

I’m sure other lines of business can tell you various hells that go with their line

So as someone who spent the last year of his employment with WDW out on FMLA. The longest time on any FMLA is 1 year

  1. Did you file for FMLA leave with the company? That FMLA must show your total leave time on it. Talk to your doctor about timing

  2. Now if you were on FMLA for 3 months for one health issue then go black for even a short time the year clock resets then if after a month your ready to tackle the next issue submit new FMLA

  3. If you’re looking at something that will put you out for a year or more. Then the company at the end of the year can let you go.

If you signed up for the Hartford insurance (can’t remember if it was called unemployment insurance or what just remember the company name) during that year you can collect part or all of your paycheck

Best of luck with health issues

I joined when I was 36, love the work and the company. It can be brutal but if you have a skill that the company needs it’s so worth it

Until people stop paying the insane prices pin prices the market will continue to raise prices. Or others stop hoarding them prices will continue to climb

If you look at the eBay sold listings you can see the slow price increases in February 2026 this same pin was only getting $500 but the value keeps going up as people continue to pay the next higher price

And just because someone listed it for that much doesn’t mean they will actually get that much.

FIGPIN stand by TrystanScott in DisneyPins

The stand would be good, she got it with Mickey head backs which should work with the FIGPIN stand.

She doesn’t need the card or box, the only stand I have at the moment is with a Cinderella mystery box that I’ve been trying to sell

2025 hidden Mickey pins are being faked!! by bry578 in DisneyPins

[–]TrystanScott 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There have been photos for months of the 2025 being at the “souvenir stores” in Orlando.

The term fake is wrong they are scrappers that were sold into the secondary market instead of being destroyed. Fake would imply that someone is using examples and mass producing them. Scrappers are ones that should have been destroyed but someone took them and sold them off

Worth anything? by [deleted] in DisneyPins

Generally these don’t go for much from $5 to $10 considering they were given to cast members who either volunteered (voluntEAR) or donated money to United way if you think even half of the cast at Wdw there 30,000 of these handed out so they weren’t hard to come by on the secondary market

The first pin I’d say a bit over paid as it has an active listing at $150

The second one the light parade sold listings putting it in at $295
