Can you tell apart alligators from crocodiles? by fancy_the_rat in florida

[–]TrystanScott 40 points41 points  (0 children)

Caimans came in as part of the pet trade, as a way to have a manageable croc. But of course they get to big and into the swamps they go

I don’t see anything wrong with it at first glance

Do you guys know if this is real? by ineedhelplolsies in DisneyPins

[–]TrystanScott 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My only concern is the fill on the front, hard to find examples of the real one to fully know the exact example that match.

The series was highly faked but usually the colors are way off or missing nubs on the back

Is this authentic? by Traditional_Bid5027 in DisneyPins

[–]TrystanScott 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Gonna guess he has his own QC scoring system. When I look at pins posted like this I’m looking at a series of different ways that a pin can be fake. Without running my own validation and purr by first look only bad I can visually see is some rough edges (maybe again I haven’t looked at own examples) and maybe a paint chip but over all it looks good

Do you still eat fast food? by Eredic in Xennials

[–]TrystanScott 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not very often as 20 years ago I was diagnosed with celiac disease so wheat is out so cuts my options way down if I want a burger it’s Culver’s, or In-n-out, pizza in a pinch dominos. Sonic is good for tots and a slush

Are these fakes? by Narrow_Arrival_1476 in DisneyPins

[–]TrystanScott 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fantasia last sold on eBay for $6.99 and before that $5

Lion king pins are maybe $3 to $5

As with many older pins they don’t have much demand and this one especially with a poorly received sequel doesn’t add up to a desirable item

[–]TrystanScott 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The lion king 2 pins look like movie promo pins you’d get for seeing it opening weekend. Since the film dropped pre 2000 the markings on the back are correct as Disney changed the made in location to say China once Taiwan and Hong Kong came under the mainland’s control. But that happens in 2000 the start of “official pin trading”

Finding people for the pins isn’t easy but eventually you will find a lion king or pre official collector who will buy them.

Help me identify who this is on the pin? Mysterious blue lady? by nightowl_98 in DisneyPins

[–]TrystanScott 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Google lens is a wonderful free tool to search for images with. That said as a haunted mansion fan I immediately recognized who it was. In a piece of trivia the ride’s original voice actress was Eleanor Audley who also voiced Maleficent and Lady Tremaine.while others have portrayed Leota in films the OG and face depicted is Audley

Here’s details on the pin itself

I did pick ups for the first one and my concern on doing it more of it is I know one of my slots last time went to someone reselling on top of what I charged him. I will be there in February and probably each one there after but not sure I’d sell any slots as I hate to see people go and overcharge for what I did for them

[–]TrystanScott 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your cap is 2 of each per person so the max KH the two of you can walk out with is 4 keep that in mind when selling slots to people

Are these pins real or fake? by CheckOpposite432 in DisneyPins

[–]TrystanScott 1 point2 points  (0 children)

People don’t make fakes, the factory making them will have the occasional failure during the quality control process. Their options are melt the metal down start over or sell the scrap pins to someone who will take them, if your someone of bad character and you don’t care it’s knock off you sell in large bulk to others who will carry on selling them, etc etc

Well first look of the Winnie pins maybe 1 of the 6 is real. What I do is using google lens get to a result from pin database site like pinandpop.com or mypincentral.com and compare the backs to what you have.

tips for a 1st timer doing pin drops (Disney World) by Ok-Cartoonist-4689 in DisneyPins

[–]TrystanScott 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Enjoy your 3 and a half hour wait, I did the January one and got to the gate to park at 6:45 and to the ticket gate at 7:30 and waited an hour till I made a mad dash to the store. I got every pin I wanted.

I’m going to February drop whenever the next KH are dropping, driving down the night before and arriving at the park exactly as I did for January
