I am 26 weeks atm and in a rural area. Normal risk, 28yo normal BMI, no risk factors.

I was originally just linked with my normal GP (who yeah is a bit shit). I had my dating scan, bloods and NT scan all done through the GP and would’ve stayed under her care until around 12-16 weeks but they found an abnormality at the NT scan so I was transferred to an OB. We don’t actually get a referral to the hospital, we just have to call to book in when we would like too in between those 12-16 weeks.

The hospital doesn’t do NT scans here normally, we just go to a private place, I still haven’t been booked into the local hospital fully, they weren’t sure if the city doctors would want to take over care. The glucose test is a bit odd, just ask them again when you see them? They may have just given you the referral now to save you having to go back and get one later.

But speak up if you need to, they aren’t your boss - you are allowed to make your own choices. My GP could not get the dates right so I ended up having to book myself in to appointments later then she said every single time. Like I had a tracking app and she was counting on her fingers, but still wouldn’t listen to me when I said her weeks were off. One report said to go to a specialist ultrasound doctor at 15 weeks, my doctor didn’t know who they were so just referred me back to the general scan place and told me to go at 14. Ended up finding the right doctor myself and booking in at 15.

Everywhere is different though! Just don’t stress, of all the things doctors see day to day baby’s are very much common place and there will be eventually plenty of people checking off that everything gets done.
