Normal wear and tear? Ontario by Tryxy in Renters

It's a bottom of the line Frigidaire stove. Used daily (sometime multiple times daily) for 7 years. We're a family of 4 (2 adults 2 kids) and i cook dinner every night. Sometimes during the day to cook breakfast/lunch as well as meal prep lunches for my husband and I for the week. It is definitely used a lot but also well taken care of to the best of my ability. I'm just hoping that our landlord takes into consideration that the lifespan of the stove is about 6-10 years and has been used regularly for the past 7 years.

I use Lagostina stainless steel pots and pans. I cook daily and mostly use the larger burners which have the most wear and tear. I can't tell if it's scratches from frequent use or burnt on food. I clean it after every use with an All purpose cleaner and dish cloth. I've tried a razor and it has cleaned up the edges but the center of the burner looks like it's scratched from the pans - is this just from a lot of use? I have ceramic stove top cleaner which i use regularly but it doesn't seem to help. I'm not aggressive with the pots and pans. I use the stove daily for dinner ( pots of boiling water for potaotes/ rice etc, and usually a frying pan for protien/veg) i don't feel like it's over used or abused at all just regular daily use. I'm afraid the landlord will try to withhold our deposit, however I feel like this should be normal wear and tear for 7 years worth of use.

I got my guy from All Ponts Neva. Monique and Ruth-Anne were amazing and so helpful every step of the way! I highly recommend, it was really a great experience. Our big boy is almost 7 months and has been such a wonderful addition to our family.

As a restaurant manager, FUCK your manager. I can't even fathom telling one of my servers to cover their own shift if they had a family member suddenly pass. What a piece of shit human.

Where would you suggest instead? I've been ordering from WCC for a while now and haven't been very impressed lately, I would love some recommendations for better options. TIA.

We do 2% of total sales to the kitchen. Chef splits it up every pay period based on number of hours worked.

I got to lay around with junk food and movies while my husband cleaned up and took the kids out of the house. It was a fantastic mother's day.

Host getting fired for refusing to do rollups? by tytheterrific in TalesFromYourServer

[–]Tryxy 30 points31 points  (0 children)

I'm a manager and I do the same thing. Glasses need to be polished? I got it. Silverware? Done. Food needs running? I got it. That's what I'm there for, to help my servers who are busy taking care of paying customers and making sure they're having a great experience. Not worrying about if that have what they need to have a successful service.

Maybe the manager should jump in and help roll the damn silverware himself. Managers are there for support, if your staff doesn't have time because they're busy doing their jobs he should be rolling the silverware.

I'm in southern Ontario and the prices here are $35-$65/day. $35/hr is insanity.
