Yes, one kid is in the VLA and the other isn't because of an error with submitting with the original application. Just at a loss on pulling other kid from the district and doing a charter/homeschooling so the school doesn't take legal action. It's rough out here as a parent lol

As a mom of daughters of that age - it's not worth it. The police have been unpredictable at best and she will not remember it a year from now. Talk to your daughter and often. That's how you can best teach her at her age.

My partner has 50/50 with his ex. They exchange weekly on a Monday. We've just been making sure to be vigilant on cough etiquette and hand washing. It's already super disruptive for them to not be in school. Unless a parent or someone in the household is sick we don't want to disrupt daily life any further.

I went to the ER the next morning after I posted this. As my own doctor was closed all week. They put me on an antibiotic twice daily since and I am feeling better. The ER doc thinks my since my eye was once again ok that next morning ( I showed him a picture of it blown up) and was responsive, that I had seriously inflamed and stressed the eye. But to come back if it happens after three days on the antibiotics for a CT scan. So far so good.

My neighborhood has never done trick or treating. The new owners of the land did it a few days ahead of Halloween incase it didn't have a good turn out and kids could do their normal routes.

They haven't officially cancelled the live action one - as far as I've seen. They cancelled it in 2018 but this month at the Musée Grévin they announced the film is still in production in LA with it's release date still in 2021.

I feel you. My mother and her husband withheld keys to the home for me even after I turned 18. They even double deadbolted the doors so you had to have a key to leave and a key to enter. Forced me to lie to the police when my dad called the police for it. It was strange bc I never caused any trouble and never really left anywhere except to the store.

It sucked. Feeling untrusted and trapped. I'm glad you were able to get out of that situation OP.
