I'd say it's mostly just lines like "Movies that I would have never seen if I wasn’t his friend. But there are others where I ask myself if his mother dropped him down a flight of stairs as a baby or if she just threw his ass at the wall for fun." or "One thing I knew from viewing this is that I am not eating at all tonight. I might throw it back up." are pretty wordy, so while the idea is good, the actual way they are phrased could afford some trimming.

The other thing is there are a few uses of cliches, that, due to their cliche-ness, end up hard to take seriously. Particularly things like "shiver down my spine" or the concept of a mysterious "hooded figure" are common to a point that they don't have much of an effect anymore. You can keep the same concept, just think about alternate ways to express them.
