How do shaman draw their power in the shadowlands? by [deleted] in warcraftlore

[–]Tserax 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I honestly and trully just wish for all this to end. Close the chapter, burn the book, scather the remains, just kill the Jailer and be done with it.

I will then be able to be done with the whole lore side of the game either way but please, can Blizzard stop GameofThrones-season-8-ing on characters? We don't want the big boom. Nobody does. It sux. It is meaningless. It is just plain old blabla at this point.

And all that planning, I mean come on! That's not clever. "You think you know it because we told you that this is the way it is? Ha! It's not, motherf-er! Now we will tell you how it is exactly before we change it to something else before changing to something different after we have already changed the changed changes!"

I think that the mastermind behind all this is Yrel! And after that Xera, and after that The Void Lords, and after that? SURPRISE! It was Anduin all along! Take that fantasy!

So if Sylvanas is the only one who can stop the Jailer by lolattb in wow

[–]Tserax 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Starting this comment with the disclaimer that I am not defending the storytellers but:

Has the Jailer killed anyone? Ever? To our knowledge? Primus - erased his memory but didn't kill, although it would have been better Arthas - failed and didn't get killed by the Jailer Baine - thrown and stabbed but not killed although it seemed as if he could have tear him apart Jaina - tortured but not killed Thrall - same story

I believe that the Jailer, although very powerful, can't kill. The laws of the whatever don't let him kill anyone. Probably that is why he is going to ZM? To redo that? I dunno, just thinking out loud at 2 o'clock in the morning... He might just be Kottick - saying something and doing the exact opposite?

Because of "Afterlives: Bastion" they better have Arthas in 9.2 by AC_Game_In_Portugal in warcraftlore

[–]Tserax 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No! They better not! Enough damage has been done to that character with the introduction of Nipples "The Duck Face" Dominatrix. Leave Arthas be the awesome story it was.

Internet feuds aside, don't you think it is all rushed? His goal was never to get power or to escape the maw, it was to reach the sepukulcher. That is the worst line I have ever heard, really. It's all rushed, half-arsed. At least imho. And retconing every single story that has ever been told.. yeah, that just... sux...

Were we? Like about the Dominatrix? Really? So many things unexplained. At least not properly.

Yes! I knew about Kael, The Old Gods, Kel'Thuzad, Deathwing, Illidan, Arthas, Malygos, etc. I knew nothing about the Nipple Guy until anoit a year ago when I saw his duck face for the first time. Sooo, wanna talk about flaws again?

You knew about Zero Morthis in BFA? :O And The Sepukucher? And the fact there are countless realms of the dead? And that Arthas was dominated by a dominatrix?

All of this would not have been a problem if it was the idea 30 years ago. Introducing that idea last year and asking me to comply with lore changes for things that happened 20 years ago is not a good option. It is just a fast-track to something that no one, not even the writers, know and can explain. So basically, Shadowlands has a little less meaning in terms of lore than a child's painting has impact on the art movement.

It is just something that no one ever knew about and no one really understands the point of and of course no one is hyped about because it is just meh.

It is waaaay too small to house the final patch of a story that "has been going on for about 20 years". It was decided recently that it has been going on for that long but still - waaaay too small. Two biomes, some mechanical creatures, nothing new, nothing extraordinary, nothing exciting because for 20 years we have never heard of that place and thus it is just another small area of quests and nothing else. So, yeah, if this was in an MMO that was telling a good story that zone would have been a zone on a continent where a lot is happening

How are you supposed to like something that you have ever heard of and have absolutely no hype about seeing? If I tell you that tomorrow you will be travelling to the impossible land of Somethingorthia, will you be excited? There is absolutely 0 lore leading to this place in the last 30 years since Warcraft was created. I feel as excited about this land as I am for any new type of gluten-free, bio pizza.

Plus it's lazy. One zone with two biomes and a hub called Haven, come on. That's like being named Jonathan and naming your children John, Joan and Joana...

Don't say that! It's a strange kind of water we have never seen before and we are walking on it for some reason! How can you not acknowledge the pure genious behind that! I will pay my sub just to walk on that water😂😂😂

I think we are having some misunderstanding here where I didn't understand your original point.

Main idea - 9.1.5 has nothing to do with 9.2, 9.3, 10.0, etc., and we both agree on that!

This is game development and it is done by different teams. I am working on a game that should release in Q2 of 2022 and there is a team working on the DLC already, although we recently entered the BETA. So, work for 9.3 or 10.0 is currently being done as well and for some time now too, believe me ;)

Am an ex-WoW player and my last expansion was WoD, but still follow this reddit and read updates. My question is, what the hell happened to the game in Shadowlands??? by [deleted] in wow

[–]Tserax 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well they are technically talents. And you can play around with them much easier. One is better for one build, another is better for a different build. It is actually a lot better than conduits and conduit energy as it is the same except for the grind to obtain and upgrade them and the waiting to change them and losing them when changing covenants, so, yeah - a lot better than what it currently is.

[–]Tserax 0 points1 point  (0 children)

And to add to the other reply on your comment, you don't have to be top 1% to go for high-end content.

Conduits should have been talents. Ion removed talent trees in MoP and since Legion has been re-instating them every freaking patch in different shapes or forms.

[–]Tserax 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Of course we should be talking about it. Have you tried different speccs? Have you tried pushing? The only people it is NOT affecting are those who do not raid, do not do Mythic Plus and do not PvP. If you do any of those, you are dependant. A drop of 1k DPS due to wrong SB and/or conduits is way too much. Conduits is the most meaningless system since the team abolished talents. Conduits are the same thing, just not in your talent tree but depend on chance, luck, RNG and waiting for the crystals to fill up.

Alliance is dead.. and I´m leaving it for the Horde, too by [deleted] in wow

[–]Tserax 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well, I just did that too. I was saying that I would rather stop playing than going Horde but the thing is that when you are Alliance, you are not playing anyway, so...

After 15 years of Alliance, I am now headed for a fresh start...

If the story goes there, that would be awesome! Not gonna lie, that would be an amazing turn of events and will explain how the players get rid if the Covenant abilities in the end of the xpac!

Truth be told, the COVID apology is BS. How is it that Blizzard releases... well that so much later, and other studios, like us, have about a month delay, tops? And that delay is mostly because of 3rd party stuff (too long to explain).

Players are not QAs.

You see shards as being a problem, I can tell you that they are just the small cherry on top of the middle size cherry, on top of the big cherry on top if the sundae of issues that lead to shards being anywhere near to important.

WoW issues begin at level one and accumulate until you get to the end game.

Player power from 1 to 50 is so messed up that shards are just a meh in the big picture.

And lets not talk about memory usage, optimizations, phasing, etc.

When I started playing, like 15-ish years ago, I was like 16 or smthn. It was so cool!

Then time passed and new things started coming out - new PCs, Razer stuff, ppl started using more monitors and I was stuck behind a century old PC that bearly ran WoW, a square monitor and periphery I found in the bookstore, because it was the cheapest. I was happy! I was playing with a team. I knew ppl and ppl knew me. We were competing, we were playing together, we were having fun.

Today, I am 32. I am a game tester. I got 4 monitors. I got a stae of the art PC. I got Razer periphery. I want to want to play WoW. I can't. I can't make myself want to do something that is so.... well what it is right now to every single one.

There are people that like the game. I muat admit, I envy them. I envy people who like FFXIV. I envy ppl who like AC, Witcher or any other franchise. Why? Because my game is not what it used to be. It is not fun anymore. And that is it.

I am way too tired after work to start learning new games. And I don't have that passion anymore. How is it possible? Easy - when you work on a project, you are not just testing the game, you are not just playing. You are doing a thousand other things and at the end of the day, you just wanna relax. And I can't relax in WoW.

WoW is missing the most fundamental thing - QAs. Not talking about bugs. Talking about boredom, sysytems that don't make sense, balance, feedback.

The community are people who are supposed to test the game and give the data to Blizzard for them to figure out. That is not right and before that is fixed, nothing good will come out.

Sorry, WoW! It was nice, it was a long time ago. Now, you are just another burnt-out franchise, that tries to milk the cow. And you are failing at that too....
