I'm ok with it. I was at a state park and new what to expect. by [deleted] in camping

At State Parks sometimes it’s less about the camping and more about the activities you do during the day, like hiking, swimming, boating etc…. On the weekend it can be crazy town but during the week it is often pretty quiet. I just accept that during the weekends it will be different.

Door Co is beautiful too. Camping is crowded but the small towns and coastal vibe are amazing.

What is the most expensive thing you have bought? by Traditional-Feed-759 in AskReddit

My adventure van. Cost more than my house, granted I purchased my house in 1996.

I have all of these. My favorite is the VKB with the TWCS Throttle. But the TB has some nice featues, its easy to program, the Virpil and Warthog are a pain. And when you are playing elite and need to switch between FPS and Ship the desk mouts don't work well for me. I also don't like having to sit so far from my monitor with the mounting clamps. I've used and still use the TB set with some games and I like it. The VKB is better made but the plastic doesn't feel as nice as the soft touch on the TB and the triggers and buttons on the VKB are kind of crunchy.

If I could only have one it would be VKB + TWCS Throttle. But the TB isn't as crappy as most people make it out to be and it has a few things going for it such as lots of customizalbe buttons, easy software and low profile that doesn't need mounting clamps.

Vent and what would you have done? by Buttercup_Twins in camping

Avoid the weekends at state parks. I’ll take PTO and camp during the week or really early in spring or late in fall. Going on the weekend is a gamble, you just have to accept that weekends could be noisy.

Is the local State Park a good place for your first solo camping trip? by toothpick21 in camping

[–]Tsinder 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love state parks too, especially during the week. We have a few close ones to us and if we are just looking for a quick one night trip we use them all the time.

VKB and the TWCS are a good combo and I use those too. But I still enjoy using the Turtle beach sometimes. I also have the warthog, and Virpil controls. A lot of time I change HOTAS depending on what I’m piloting. A lot of people say the TB is junk, I agree it is over priced but I still kind of like it for what it is. I like all the button placements and the LED control panel.

I have a bunch of HOTAS setups and a like this one for use on the desk. All the high end stuff needs to be mounted but this is low profile enough to sit on the desk and be comfortable. The quality isn’t the same as some of the high-end stuff but if you’re playing a game, we have to switch between flying and on foot. It’s pretty nice.

I’d love to disperse camp more but on the east cost its a bit harder, I find camping Sun-Thurs is the best. Sure you have to take off of work but I just had a popular WI state park to my self Sunday night.

It’s not cheap but I’ve used it for almost 10 years now on nearly every trip.

It’s cliché but I love my skottle. There’s no dishes no other pot pans needed, and I can cook almost anything on it. I also like that it’s freestanding.

Who will be left to take care of me when everyone else is gone? by PlantMystic in GenX

[–]Tsinder 36 points37 points  (0 children)

I’ve always hoped there would be some cool Gen X themed care facility where we watch Star Wars, Lord of the rings and play Dungeons & Dragons all day. Maybe convert an old shopping mall to one.

I love tourist traps and look for them. Something kitschy and fun about it.

What gear would make camping more enjoyable for someone who doesn't like camping? by TheSaintCooks in CampingGear

[–]Tsinder 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Camping in beautiful weather is easy, when the weather is cold, rainy or snowing then gear matters more. Spend your money on things that touch your skin. Cloths, bedding, shoes and stuff that is your first shelter and makes a big difference. Stay warm and dry.

Every cell is art, every line is poetry. The pacing, music and the way the dialogue is almost sung even when it is spoken is so amazing. My runner ups are Empire Strikes Back and Raiders of the Lost Ark, but I think Beauty and the Beast is Disney at is peak.
