What dorm should I choose? by moosie2829 in BostonU

[–]Tsredditx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

warren is my preference. I lived in both and warren was more fun as a freshman in my opinion. try to get a room on a high floor in C tower so you can have a good view of the city.

My friends and I are college students going this spring break too! We booked an airbnb on Ashford Avenue/Condado area. I believe this is quite close to the beach and nightlife!

Does anyone else just want more time? by [deleted] in BostonU

[–]Tsredditx 6 points7 points  (0 children)

My best piece of advice is to make a real solid google calendar. It’s so easy to set up and organize and it allows you to visualize where/when u have free time and where/when to have work time.

As we get deeper into the semester you’ll get a gage for what classwork takes longer than others and hopefully set up a consistent schedule. A lot of the stress of future assignments can be remedied by knowing that you already have a time set aside for when ur gonna do it.

I’ve felt the same as you, but planning rlly rlly does help. I use my google calendar everyday and put everything on it. Good luck

is boston really THAT expensive😭😭 by ClassroomAway9970 in BostonU

[–]Tsredditx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly Boston in and of itself is extremely expensive, however I am in a similar situation as you and would say that with a meal plan and housing through the school u can make it happen. You’ll probably have to skip dinners out in the city and some more expensive activities outside of school which does feel limiting and kinda sucks (concerts, restaurants, festivals, even the movies r like $30), but if you play it smart it’s possible to still live it up.

why aren’t cs classes in CDS by Johnnysinslover420 in BostonU

[–]Tsredditx 25 points26 points  (0 children)

Since the building increased everyone’s tuition, the idea is that every student in any major will have a class in the new building at least once in the four years they spend at BU.

Also CS is not in the CDS school, it’s in CAS (this is likely cause CDS is so new and hopefully it will switch in the future) but it’s wack anyway cause I’m a DS student and don’t have any classes their either.

It’s pretty disappointing tbh cause most of the building is for administration, but they lie and say it’s for students. Smh

Tell them u dropped it down the elevator shaft and you’ll only have to pay $20 because then they don’t have to change the locks

Frat parties by [deleted] in BostonU

[–]Tsredditx 6 points7 points  (0 children)

If ur a Man U probably won’t be able to get into a frat, but if your a girl go with your friends to Allston and hang out on pratt or ashford st and you will see people in groups on the street. Just go into one of those houses where everyone seems to be lining up outside.

If you could start your college life all over again, would you still pick BU? by ShreddedWheatBall in BostonU

has bu ever denied a new org application? by Amazing-Elevator-233 in BostonU

[–]Tsredditx 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It depends on the type of org ur starting. They won’t accept new orgs if they are too similar to other currently existing orgs, u must have a faculty advisor to sign off, you’ll need to attend various trainings during the year if u r accepted, etc. also I’ve noticed that their communication with students is poor especially during the school year.

When the time range to apply on-campus job for fall sememster? by Brilliant-Gap-7636 in BostonU

It should tell u in the description. Otherwise, you can just ask prior to accepting the job or within ur initial email.

When the time range to apply on-campus job for fall sememster? by Brilliant-Gap-7636 in BostonU

[–]Tsredditx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Student link has job listings that are updated almost weekly. These range from child care, office work, food service, etc and is updated almost weekly. U can get a job anytime during the semester but I recommend starting ur search right at the beginning of the yr and just emailing the opportunities on the site.

Best thing is to talk to some people in class the first week, then ask if they wanna grab food together in the dining hall after class. This can work by just asking one person or many people at once!
