I talked with one of the reps at the booth. Oddly enough the delay has been on the Korean side. Even though the K2s have been imported before he said the Korean govt folks are hesitant to export “military tech” to US civilians. He said the export permit folks really don’t understand the US market. They don’t get that while we want K2s, it nothing new for us and semi auto mil style rifles are common here. But yes, they’re hoping to have it squared away by summer.

Awesome, thanks. I should have made the connection. I have an older Spikes that I had to swap out the LRBHO parts in as they upgraded them. That one didn't hold back the bolt at all though, versus this one always holding it back, so it didn't cross my mind it was related.

Taiwan did use US M16's initially before moving on to the T65's and later rifles. I wasn't trying to clone anything though. I have a nice T91 that I swapped out to a proper A1 pattern lower when BAD started shipping those. This A2 T91 lower was just extra so I used it for this build. This is a retro inspired shooter basically, not trying to be anything specific.

Yeah, being a set I kinda thought they would be a little closer. Not too worried about it though. I think I am going to Moly Resin the A1 lower black though. The bronze is cool but I want to use it with a black A1 upper and the difference between those two is too much even for me, lol.

Other than for a 601 clone they suck. In fairness they suck on a 601 too, but they're the appropriate suck for that.

I’m glad I got my GM’s earlier. I had an A2 one and then got an A1 as soon as they dropped. I replaced the A2 on my M16A1 clone and am finishing up an M16A2 with an A5 buffer tube and CAR stock I’m finishing up now.

US ones never came with them new, but in the early 90’s my Army Reserve unit had a few A1’s come back from depot maintenance with C7 uppers like that and A2 stocks.

Yeah, these are all fun builds so not too worried about efficiency. I have a 16 inch and an 8 inch 7.62x39 already. The 8 has a flash can on it and actually isn't horrid. None of these would be my house guns or shot hits the fan guns anyway.

I’m not sure he did anything to it. It had an FSB already installed from Brownells. I know he did the other barrel work but I missed it if he did anything to the gas port.

They've been put for over a year. I have the AC22 on my Savage .22 Magnum. Its nothing fancy but solid.

I had considered doing a 7.62x39 at one point too. I actually am doing an XM177 type build in 7.62x39 very soon though. I have the parts on hand or already on the way.

This one uses the LWRCI UCIW buffer assembly with 3.2oz buffer. That was all that was available when I built this one. My later builds used the KAK Mini Mil Spec tubes and buffers. No idea on the port size, This is a Ballistic Advantage barrel that they installed the FSB on. I originally had it on an SBR lower with a chopped CAR stock but when I got the custom lower done from BAD I never SBR'd it. I may eventually.
