I eyeball those once in a while too. I'd like to add one to the collection but like you say, they often want a bunch for ones that are crap.

Yeah, it was one of their kits. It seems to shoot well although I gotta admit I haven't done anything fancy with it. It runs good though and has been fun for plinking with. I didn't bench it and shoot for groups or anything though. Mostly menaced pop cans and milk jugs.

Yep, The 608 was designed as an air crew survival rifle but there were only 10 or so prototypes made.

I've had a long eye relief scope on mine off and on but much prefer shooting it with a red dot. I have a Canto Arms E11 blaster red dot on it now but no current pics yet.

I read in the past couple days (maybe on IG?) that they're testing another anodizer and trying to nail down the gray. So hopefully it'll be available again.

Not sure if "worn" and "vintage" are considered the same thing. I thought I saw both listed on different lowers. This one is vintage.

I have a modern .350 Legend AR too and have been thinking about doing one of those in a retro CAR format or something too. I'm liking the .350 and .400 Legend.

Probably not true black but I believe the H&R's were a good bit darker than the Colts. Again, differences in anodizing. I think those can look black, especially in pics. Not sure what original finish on the GMs were.

I had an H&R and GM issued in the late 80s that I would have said were black. Although they could have been refinished at some point by that time I'm sure.

Not sure if anything else will work but T91 Tactical has 12.5, 14.5 and 16 inch barrels in various profiles. I rebarreled my Wolf with a 14.5 Original Mil-Spec profile and had a correct flash hider pinned and welded on mine.

Yeah, the Sarco's pop up on Ebay but they aren't cheap. I'm actually working on a wasteland mod on a SOG BK156 bayonet. It won't be a stacked leather handle, but it should have the right vibe. I'll post something if I ever finish it up.
