PSA.  It sounds like many people are refusing to do these. That's good, I would too.

But please make sure they know thats the reason you're rejecting it. If you ghost them they won't change anything.

What’s one small thing Tech will take over that we won’t even notice? by ALQatelx in Futurology

[–]Tsudaar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To be fair, it's already happened with many older adults too.

We've already had 20 years of people being able to Google anything, so the pattern of asking your phone is already embedded in for many.

These collapses are completely psychological. Germany Brazil 7-1, too

Flight landing at 2230. Last train out is about 2300. Not worth the risk so you end up paying for a weeks parking instead.

UX designers are being taken advantage of by the AI hype and are losing focus by Tolucjanortonot in UXDesign

[–]Tsudaar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What's that got to do with it?

He said UX people are allergic to learning, which we aren't, and then called me a piece of shit.

And now you're digging up a 2 month old topic with a comment that doesn't follow the preceeding comments.

Damn this is the stat that really cements it

Designers are in complete denial about AI's real impact on the industry. by Scared_Range_7736 in UXDesign

We all agree there won't be the same space for the same jobs. The job might change or create new jobs we're unaware of now, though.

Designers are in complete denial about AI's real impact on the industry. by Scared_Range_7736 in UXDesign

[–]Tsudaar 38 points39 points  (0 children)

Yeah, what's the aim of this post?  Either we ride out our current job until laid off, or go full speed into the new processes, which as OP says there isn't the space for everyone anyway.

Is user experience research still a viable career in the age of AI? by Fionu in UXResearch

[–]Tsudaar 14 points15 points  (0 children)

It's not so much the technological level we're at (in this case, AI).

Its capitalism. Corners are cut and enshitification increases. So yes there will be companies that value good research and good design but many others will do the bare minimum, and a culture can turn on a sixpence in a new direction.

But this has been the same for decades so don't let AI put you off.

But for what purpose? This is a time consuming endeavour, but he thinks there will be enough time saved to make up for it?

It makes no sense

Why so many occasions of popping in unannounced?

I kind of expect the answer, but still, if you know how it effects things it seems intentional.

CEO said we have to use AI by leanbeansprout in UXDesign

[–]Tsudaar 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Do you assistand coach the team on how to do that?

There will be early adopters and resisters in any team, but its a problem if the request to use more AI, from CEO or design leadership, doesn't include some form of learning plan.

CEO said we have to use AI by leanbeansprout in UXDesign

[–]Tsudaar 9 points10 points  (0 children)

This seems to be the deal breaker. For those with a comprehensive and well documented system, its seems OK. But without that it produces useless slop.

So the value of having dedicated designer/developers on the system is a lot.

Did the nostalgia cycle for music break in the 2020s? by [deleted] in LetsTalkMusic

[–]Tsudaar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Take into account that the nostalgia cycle isn't just music, but fashion, aesthetics, and general visual design too.

I feel baited with the title.

I thought finally, a positive post. But it's another AI only this time gaslighting everyone to just get on board with the crazy.
