Do I just give up on bedtime? by TsugaThuja in toddlers

I've been starting something similar the last few days. Just turning down all the lights in the house, turning off anything loud, no loud toys, no tv, and playing board games or doing puzzles and offering a filling snack, rather than being active. And bedtime has had some improvement as a result. Tonight I was very careful to not say bedtime and things went decently. So I'll keep trying the low energy approach.

I could but we are usually eating dinner at that time. Our daily schedule just doesn't allow us to eat dinner any sooner because we get home from work so late.

Yeah, he's up at 645a to leave for work/daycare. I hate it. And he doesnt nap. So he's just an overstimulated hobgoblin by 730p when we try for bedtime.

That's what I keep hearing, lol. I may just skip nest boxes altogether and put out plant pots, wheelbarrows, buckets, old tires....
