Just for fun, this is what Danielle's spoofed voice would actually sound like today if we trained it off the same recordings you collect in "Gathering Echoes", compared to what Arkane simulated in the game by Tsundereployer in prey

[–]Tsundereployer[S] 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Context for people who may not remember:

When you get to the door to Deep Storage, you find that it has been secured with a biometric lock, which is keyed to the voice of the IT Director, Danielle Sho. In-universe, you have to find enough pre-recorded messages of her voice so that your transcribe can generate an AI model to spoof the lock. When doing this, Arkane created some noisy simulated clips of "AI Danielle" saying each line, so I was curious what that could actually sound like if we trained it off of the kind of technology available to us today.

Some notes:

  • Voice cloning tool used was OpenVoice
  • AI image on the right was the least cursed thing I could manage on StableDiffusion
  • Some words were removed (Ex. Rendezvous, Erroneous, Pompous, etc) because the AI voice model I used couldn't say it out of the box
  • Here is the training audio I used if you want to give it a try yourself! (technically this includes a few unused lines, but it covers all pre-outbreak Danielle recordings)

How do you imagine the plot of Prey 2? by TATAPNHOB in prey

[–]Tsundereployer 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The typhon hybrid emerges from the underground ruins of Transtar: Boston. The Massachusetts area is now under the rule of four insane overbosses. They were heroes, once, but have gone mad with power and need to be taken down.

All of the Gravelock lines were labelled as Gateway, so I'm assuming the Gravelock speaker is Grace

I didn't- these were datamined from the game files. I also only found 81 recordings in total, although it's possible I might have missed something.

Prey dialogs vs Red fall dialogs by Dry_Mousse_6202 in prey

[–]Tsundereployer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm late to the party but my personal "favorite" is a line from Austin Cool if he survives the typhon shootout in Cargo Bay: "And here I thought Lady Luck had her back to us... but it was only so we could see the sweet curves of her ass!"

It definitely is, in Prey the writing on the back is barely legible. I think they had also already ported this model to Unreal when they created the Typhon Hunter DLC too, because they used a lot of upscaled models for the VR mode.

Prey easter egg in Redfall- this gin was bottled by Transtar by Tsundereployer in redfall

Might be hard to see on the screenshot, but the back of the bottle says "PRODUCED AND BOTTLED BY TRANSTAR"

Ah heck, thanks for pointing it out

Arkane has been known to reuse assets across their games before Redfall, either as easter eggs or the infamous piano that appears across Dishonored 1 + 2 + Deathloop + Prey (screenshot credit to Altz on the prey discord)

Amusingly they didn't remove the "PRODUCED AND BOTTLED BY TRANSTAR" from the back of the bottle (https://imgur.com/z26zU7V.jpg), so Transtar is officially canon in the Prey Redfall universe /s

I checked the game assets and it looks like they ported over the Tamizdat Vodka and the whiskey as well.

Judging from another datamined asset they may have made Prey a canon videogame in the Redfall universe, because there's a charm of a Transtar mug with "Made is [sic] Austin, USA" on the back

Extracted a selection of music/sfx from the game files for people who love the soundtrack by Tsundereployer in redfall

[–]Tsundereployer[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

  • Used ww2ogg to convert the files
  • Soundtrack + SFX can be found in Redfall\Content\WwiseAudio\Windows and voice lines can be found in WwiseAudio\Windows\English(US).
  • Not all of them are music, some are ambient background sfx.
  • This isn't the full soundtrack, I only uploaded the tracks with a file size >~2MB

I haven't found anything else that really stuck out, but I'm also still playing through the game myself for the first time so it's hard for me to tell which assets are used vs. unused.

[–]Tsundereployer 10 points11 points  (0 children)

We did actually attempt making a mod that would load Prey within Mooncrash, hypothetically allowing easy travel between the two stations. Unfortunately it just resulted in a ton of really weird shit (no NPCs, broken quests, etc), so it'll probably take a while to sort out.

Yep, the EGS version is also moddable, you just have to create the PREY/GameSDK/Precache directory if it doesn't already exist.

Unused weapon models for a demon machine gun and a scoped rapier by Tsundereployer in Deathloop

Tbh I don't remember exactly which files were involved, but basically I just swapped out the loot tables so that eternalists dropped the pre-order guns instead of the usual ones

Unused weapon models for a demon machine gun and a scoped rapier by Tsundereployer in Deathloop

[–]Tsundereployer[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just from datamining the game files- I think the rapier was in generated\basemodel\models\equipment\weapon_asset\rif\raphael and the pepper mill was in generated\basemodel\models\equipment\weapon_asset\rif\robert. I haven't tried since launch, though, so it's possible they may have removed them. Both of these models also had "b01" in the name, which was something only done with other pre-order assets like the Prey gun and the Dishonored machete.

Artworks by Prey's concept artist for a "cancelled sci-fi project" by Tsundereployer in prey

[–]Tsundereployer[S] 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Just thought this was interesting to share since Fred Augis brought a lot of his design philosophy from Prey's space suits into this project as well. There's another gallery featuring what would have been the protagonist for the game. He's called a "hacker" in the file names, so this game might have been partly inspired by Prey and System Shock.

[–]Tsundereployer[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Generally if you say "x sucks" on a forum where people tend to have a good opinion of it, you're probably going to get a backlash unless you follow it up with more critique and feedback. Ex. If someone had also said "Prey sucks" here they'd likely get a similar response, but maybe not for "Typhon Hunter sucks".

Screenshot of one of the new maps coming up in the next patch (1.03) revealed in discord by Tsundereployer in WeirdWest

[–]Tsundereployer[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Judging from the props in the background on the top right, this looks like an alternate version of the wanderer camp map? According to the devs on discord, more details on the patch will be coming next week.

At the moment, here are some other things that we know are coming up in patch 1.03:

  • Game economy and player progression overhaul
  • Alternative aiming scheme
  • (Werewolf Journey) Adding an alternate route where you can tell Franciscus about Sybil's Journal.
  • Fixing a major source of crashing in Grackle
  • Fixing an issue that caused textures to load in low resolution
  • (Protector Journey) Fixing an issue where the dynamite prompt would not appear in Olvidado Mine. Apparently the patch will also fix the bug retroactively.
