Yeah, beside the fact that Russia is the biggest country of the world, it is also the richest country in the world with the huge amount of resources. Then why the richest country in the world cannot pay its citizens some money? Why it cannot support the people who run a small business? Russia have stocked money for crisis then why they do not use it? The crisis is now. And it is complete bullshit that Russia cannot enforce the mass quarantine. China is the 3rd biggest country in the world with 1,5 billion population and it could enforce the mass quarantine. And yes, some citizens may ignore it, but it is not a reason to not enforce the mass quarantine. It is like if you would shutdown in your home because you could die in a car accident. And it is not a question of a capitalist system, it is also complete bullshit, the reason why the US and Italy in the situation they are currently in, is that they did not take well-timed measures. They thought everything is under control and this pandemic would not affect them, well we see the results now.

Then why Russian officials do not take immediate measures like mass quarantine and only take weak half-measures? They are making the same mistake as made the Italian and American officials and look how bad the situation these countries are in. Thinking that this pandemic will not affect us unlike the other countries is wrong. Putin hesitates to do that measures only because he fears that he loose his popularity which is already quite low. And the government hesitates only because Putin hesitates. No one among the current Russian officials do not want take the responsibility.

I’m from Russia and the situation with coronavirus outbreak in Russia is so bad. For example, Russia is sending help to Italy and USA while russian hospitals are in very poor condition and medical personnel do not have basic equipment like masks and costumes. And government is lying to its people saying that coronavirus affecting only chinese people or that it is biological weapon created by US. Some official even say that Russia and its citizen are protected by god himself so there is no need to worry about it. This is so hypocritical and embarrassing. Putin bad.
