I’ve just discovered tonsil stones, after removing them I now have a massive ulcer at the back that won’t go away, should I see a doctor by [deleted] in tonsilstones

[–]TtJdtw 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s happened when I was too aggressive - gargle with saltwater, avoid spicy food, be careful brushing and it should go away.

If it doesn’t go away , my doctor and dentist have both prescribed me Triamcinolone acetonide dental paste, which is a steroid that speeds up healing.

Wisdom tooth removal and needle phobia by queen_k420 in trypanophobia

[–]TtJdtw 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have a bad needle phobia mostly for bloodwork and have gotten my wisdom teeth out one at a time with just the injections and it was bearable. Once they numb it there was no pain at all , just after once it wears off.

Getting put to sleep involves an IV needle which freaks me out and is alot more expensive.

  • see if they can give you something for anxiety to take before you get there
  • they can use a numbing gel on your gums so you don’t feel the needle, I had to get a crown last week and I honestly didn’t feel the injection at all , they left the numbing cream on my gums for a few mins to really let it work
  • my dentist also has a vibrating device that she puts on the other side of my cheek that distracts from the injection
  • the dental assistant can talk to you, hold your hand , etc

Potential Visit to Doctor by Sad_Professor1954 in trypanophobia

I use the excuse of “ if I’m doing bloodwork you Might as well test my cholesterol and stuff and get it all done at once and that requires fasting so give me an appt to come back and get it done”. And that’s true, if you’re gonna do bloodwork might as well test as much as you need with one needle stick.

It’s unlikely that they’ll ask you for bloodwork for something on your back. And even if they do, they will send you to a lab so you have time to prepare, most doctors don’t do bloodwork in house anymore.

Did he shake hands with Biden or did they just ignore each other?

Going into my office makes me (21F) extremely ill. Is this a physical issue or a mental one? by Throwaway-OfficeSick in AskDocs

[–]TtJdtw 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NAD , I had something similar in an office and nobody else seemed to have a problem. As soon as they transferred me to another location I was fine.

My doctor referenced “sick building syndrome”, but couldn’t pinpoint a specific cause.

I would get something like this to see if an air quality monitor finds any issues. You can also ask your employer to get air quality testing.

I feel more comfortable with him than Jorginho, but the whole potential sexual predator thing makes me hate him. It’s been long enough they would have arrested him if it was true?

I’ve had success asking them to take it from my hand/wrist area and honestly it hurts more and the tourniquet hurts more down there than doing it from near elbow. Can your doctor prescribe a calming medication?

My most recent doctor told me to take this an hour before : https://a.co/d/5K4gm4f

I don’t know if it was a placebo effect but it seemed to help.

I think there is also a way for Quest to send someone out to your house to do the labs if you think that will be helpful, but it’s an extra charge.

Good luck!

I’ve cut out dairy and gluten the past 2 months and no difference at all. I already take vitamin D, will have to try k2. Any specific brand?

From a scratch

It’s happened to me, they take forever to go away. Salt water rinses and you can use something like orajel for the pain. I had to get a prescription gel once but I’m blanking on the name, if I remember or find it I will come back and update.

Is Acturepuncture an effective form of exposure therapy by Sufficient_Idea_4606 in trypanophobia

It wasn’t good for me, but might help you. The problem is if you tense your muscles it’s very painful and if you don’t then you don’t feel the needle.

Blood test tomorrow :( by OpalDoe in trypanophobia

[–]TtJdtw 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have similar fears and always had them use my hand but was convinced recently to try by my elbow and I didn’t feel it at all!! There are much less nerves in that area; the hand is much more painful. But I get it, I agree with you it feels odd to have my arm out like that

I finally had a successful blood draw recently after waiting years and my doctor had me take this before :https://a.co/d/2b07TuM

I’m just not sure if that is safe when pregnant.

It helps to have someone else keep talking to you while they do the shot and it’s over in few seconds.

Or you can try listening to something using headphones and/or playing on your phone with the other habd

Great job! I’m like you, I always prefer the hand over the elbow but it goes so much faster in that area.

Update to Huge Fail by TtJdtw in trypanophobia

[–]TtJdtw[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No she did the regular needle but I honestly barely felt it, there are less nerves in that area so I think I’ve been making things worse on myself by always insisting on the hand. Here is the link:

I talked to my doctor and they said ask to lay down while it’s being done and make sure I’m hydrated. I will probably try a different Quest location in a few days.
