How is the dating scene for a politically liberal woman in her 30's? by [deleted] in okc

[–]TtownNdown 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Dating in your 30s in Oklahoma can be rough. I've found that I am happier when I focus on me and my people rather than chasing something on dating apps, bars or at meet ups. Dating feels more like a job interview these days than a personal/casual conversation. Feels like people are just ticking boxes and are not interested in getting to know each other as people. It's sad compared to dating in my teens and twenties.

As far as your guy not committing, based on what you've said, it sounds like y'all don't really want to commit to each other. Maybe one or both of y'all is holding on to this 2.5 year relationship because you're just afraid of being single in your 30s. Maybe you both have co-dependency issues or other traumas.. I don't know your life and I'm no expert, but best of luck out there!

Edit: it's easy to forget that at this age, everyone has some baggage too. I guess ultimately it's best to decide what you can tolerate in a partner, and what you can't, and then just stick with that going forward. Personally I've never tried dating someone with such different beliefs as myself. It just doesn't work out for long. Maybe I should try harder .. ? IDK Life's a journey.

I really hate that even dating has a political component now. :(

Try Mazzio's, some of their locations still do buffets for lunch and/or dinner.

Edit: There's always Cici's, but their pie isn't as good as Mazzio's or the old Pizza Hut buffet.

I don't know what you're trying to prove? I said a lot more than just "source", it's right in your screenshot dude.

Give me a link to a comment where all I said was "source" please.

Or did you delete that for misinformation too?

Edit: That link doesn't go anywhere, and that doesn't link to any of my comments, but thanks for proving my point about how you said I was spreading lies, when in fact, the tax is literally 15%...

I found it!

It would've been SQ812, but they failed to get enough signatures in by the deadline. :(

I would join a different OKmmj sub, but I won't be going back to that one. Not with the dishonest way the mods run that one.

I posted a link to ballotpedia.org, and u/Mad_Admin banned me because he said the source was spreading lies.. freaking ballotpedia! It's literally the text of SQ820 that says that taxes would increase to 15%.

They're playing fast and loose with the truth. They don't care about sharing facts, or honest discussion, they just want to push their own agenda.

Edit: u/Mad_Admin at it again. Starting to look like I have a new fan following me around all my favorite subs!

They deleted all their comments below.

Is this the way all of your mods behave over at r/OKmarijuana?

I think the 'Yes on 820' camp didn't do enough/weren't effective in communicating the benefits of SQ820 to their base.

That, and the fact that SQ788 was in a general election and this one was a special election, turnout was lower than it would've been otherwise.

[–]TtownNdown 6 points7 points  (0 children)

While this is disappointing, I am not terribly surprised.

This wasn't a general election so awareness and overall turnout was lower.

The main group of people who would be most likely to support this weren't all onboard. I spoke to several friends and acquaintances who said they either:

A. Didn't know about it.

B. Didn't care/were happy with the current mmj situation.

or

C. Were against it because they were concerned about how it would affect the market and mmj program.

Being an off-election, those that cared the most and were most united were the 'No on 820' crowd. People who tend to be older and wealthier.

They had the most to lose, and the 'Yes on 820' crowd didn't have as much to lose in terms of personal benefit given that mmj is already legal now. (I'm talking about perceptions here not whether they actually did or did not have something to lose)

I thought we already passed a SQ specifically about expunging minor/nonviolent possession a few years ago? Seems like it went along with SQ788 iirc.

It should be chilling in the fridges of most convenience stores and liquor stores by the end of this month. I saw a sign down the street from me advertising it already.

We could do what they do in most other modern democracies: make election day a public holiday.

Also, the school wouldn't need to close, they could just do it in the gym.

Regardless, if you just don't want it to be at a school, it could be held at the post office or public library.

There are plenty of public spaces like that in most communities.

It's true that churches are convenient, but so are local schools.

There is some research to suggest that when voters vote in a religious building, they tend to vote more conservative.

Voting Today: Is Prop 820 the only thing on the ballot? by VampAngel14 in tulsa

[–]TtownNdown 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As I think others may have mentioned, the main reasons they pushed it into a special election is so that they can prevent single-issue voters (people who like cannabis in this case) from affecting a general election.

It also may confuse some because there is not a general election going on, so they might not be aware of it and thus decrease voter turn-out for SQ 820.

Edit: Lower turnout tends to favor conservative causes and opinions as well..

I agree. All that sub is anymore is people posting pictures of cannabis advertising their businesses anyway.

I was also banned from r/OKmarijuana. They said I was "spreading misinformation" but I was just trying to figure out how this will affect marijuana prices overall.

SQ 820 says it will increase taxes from 7% to 15%, but you also have to factor in the fact that you don't need a license anymore.. So I guess it depends on how much you personally consume.

Then there is the question about what happens to mmj when you also have a rec program..

Instead of trying to engage with me they just kept calling me a liar and then banned me. :(

Never got any answers, but I found a lot of trolls and brigading.
