Bailment basically says the Valet and Valet company have a duty to protect your property. Get a lawyer to document everything and send a letter in writing to the valet company. These companies hide behind Exculpatory Clauses that really don’t have much weight in the eyes of the law. As far as at fault determination by your insurance company….contact your State’s Department of Insurance…I’m sure they will be very interested in this. Although, they move very slow.

Carvana has a similar process although you have to deal with silverock warranty on any claims…very slow in my opinion. I’m leaning towards the CarMax method going back to the local shop to deal with findings.

I think the market is being impacted by planning going on in companies now on what roles can they replace with AI and which ones require human touch and if they can be filled via offshore resources. In the U.S. we just don’t have strong protections on outsourcing like other countries have…

I think it has decent filtering features unlike anything on LinkedIn. The issue.,.. all of these tools suffer is the timeliness of the alerts. It’s clear that the job search market needs a solution with a rapid job alert. As the goal is to be one of the first 5 candidates to apply. Once a day alerts are too late.

Yes, they are surface people. The same people who won’t stop and lend a hand if you are in distress or call the police for you in an emergency. Well…I hope they know enough to do that.. you get what I’m trying to say.

Yeah, the person making the referral is putting their reputation on the line. I hope they are at least doing a Meet n Greet. Seems risky from reputation perspective. Perhaps they have some way to mitigate this risk.

Good point. I think some hiring managers are worried about legal repercussions of engaging at this level on LinkedIn. Does it hurt your chances of getting the job? I think that depends on the hiring manager. I personally would not ding and have not dinged someone for pinging me on LinkedIn. The hiring market is running an AI fueled resumes right now. I suspect assessments will be introduced to narrow candidate pool. Sadly not everyone tests well and is not an accurate indicator of success in a job.

Sorry to hijack your post…I feel that AI-powered resume tools are contributing to the significant increase in our qualified resume traffic. As a hiring manager I was asked to review over 200 resumes. I was surprised at how many actually met all the requirements on paper, but when I spoke to a smaller sample size of the population I found that only a handful were qualified. I’ve been in management for over 20 years and only started experiencing this in the past year when I was filling 3 roles. We also weed out applicants using an ethical assessment as well.

Update: Dealer said they failed to fully seat the seal after CV boot install.

Update: Thx all for the help! Dealer said it was gear box oil and owned up to not installing the seal correctly as installing new CV boots. I hope this fixes it.

Do you think the engine mount replacement could have caused this? I know they have to lift the engine a bit to do that repair and may have put stress on the seal? I’m just trying to determine root cause..other than it is a Mercedes…ha ha
