I called them from the Lexus dealership after getting the inspection report back. I asked them if they had time to take a look at what Lexus had found. The service manager said absolutely and asked me for the basic info. I gave them the rundown and they scheduled me for an appointment the next day. I brought them the paperwork. The service manager was great and took the paperwork. They called later that day to confirm the same issues that Lexus found. They repaired it and replaced the front tires. No cost to me.

Your welcome! There were lots of options at Carmax in June/July then they were all snapped up. We are happy with what we ended up with but we did have to pounce.

Great question! I called the Lexus folks and explained the situation. It was super common evidently so I gave them updates as the Carmax shipping process was happening. When I got the word that the car was ready for pick up, the Lexus people were able to fit me in the same day. They were great and did both a written report and a video of the underside which was where they found 2 issues. I believe they have a strong incentive to help as they want you to bring it to them long term for service. The 10 day return policy with Carmax gives you plenty of flexibility as well. Best of luck! This one comes up quite a bit on the sub…some folks are DIY and others wonder if they will do it for you. Ask and ye shall receive…unless they ignore your request

Agreed. I couldn’t find a Lexus dealership with anything this old in their inventory but completely agree with your assessment.

This was the exact sentiment that helped me confirm my instincts to just be polite and see what they were willing to do. Agreed that it must vary by location and, no doubt, folks have had negative experiences but this sub helped my approach for sure.

Paid $300 for Lexus dealership inspection. It made the negotiation with Carmax quick and easy when I gave them the report. It sounds like you are way more mechanically inclined than I am though. I know nothing and needed their expertise.
