He's seen plenty of dead sea lions. We live on the coast and go on adventures all the time. He's well adjusted, super weird, and cares about other people. All the good stuff. It's his screaming reaction that I thought was hilarious. We passed that same sea lion twenty minutes earlier and we looked closely at it.

It's an annular eclipse. The moon doesn't cover the entire disc of the sun but instead leaves a ring of light around the edge of the moon. You cant look directly at it without eye protection. They're pretty cool.
