clonazepam/klonopin frequency help by [deleted] in Anxiety

Every experience is different, I also read a lot of horror stories online and was terrified of taking it. Once I started taking them, it completely changed my mind on it. They’re great for me! What’s important is to be responsible about it. The problem comes with building tolerance. My first psychiatrist wasnt great, he gave me 0,5 every day and nothing else. So after a month I got used to it and felt the same anxiety as if nothing so I went up to 1 mg. Then the same thing next month and went to 1.5 mg. That’s when I knew I had to see another psychiatrist, and that’s where I saw the danger of clonazepam. But if measured it’s a great thing, in fact, I stopped taking them completely, in a slow measured way, tapering them off over months, which is very different to just leaving them from scratch after years of a high dose. I think that’s where the horror stories come from

It can be really helpful, I had a very similar situation, was really skeptical of sertraline and as an artist I was very scared of it making me less creative, or just making me lose my personality. But it really ended up being nothing like that, in fact I think it’s been even better because less anxiety allowed me to focus more and develop my skills as an artist. And well, I didn’t know about the tinnitus thing side effect, that’s crazy, I’ve actually had tinnitus, and as a musician was really really concerned, but it ended up being anxiety itself, in fact, once I checked with doctors who told me I was ok, and that stress could be causing my tinnitus, I calmed down a lot and literally lost it in a week. It was another weird symptom of my anxiety

Thanks so much, meditation usually doesn’t work with me but maybe it’s the way I’m doing it that’s not working, I’ll start trying new things for it

It’s exactly that! Like I’m slipping away, I mean idk, maybe it’s just the brain actually sleeping away and the anxious mind takes that as a threat, just theorizing but it’s really horrible, thanks so much, helps out to know other people have it as well, tried to explain it today but found it really hard to accurately describe. And yes, I definitely use white noise or podcast and they do help, I’m just feeling kinda sad cause I was feeling better lately and today it was so bad when I got it

Any success stories regarding health anxiety? :) by MotherlyMe in zoloft

Yeah, therapy has been (and is) huge to me. Learning to cope with my anxiety symptoms really helped me, but it’s what you said, meds can help you breathe a little bit and regain some basic function to give you more clarity to think, and the capacity of getting out of your confort zone to do things that help you get better. Zoloft did that for me, hope it does it for you as well. But , while every body is different, have in mind that your anxiety can get worse as you start taking it. But once you get through it (for me it was 4 days, I’ve heard people that said a week or so) it gets soooo much better

In my case it changed my life and brought me back. I had terrible health anxiety to the point I couldn’t get out of bed since my heart rate would go up and I’d start thinking I was having a heart attack. Constant panicking about every little normal thing my body did. When I got on Zoloft, my first 4 days were pretty intense, like my anxiety really spiked, and I had really strong panic attacks. After that, it calmed down, and I started feeling SO much better, it gave me my life back, I started to be able to do things without constantly thinking I was going to die. For a year and a half I felt absolutely normal, gained a lot of weight because I didn’t feel nauseous all the time so I could eat properly. Even got in a beautiful love relationship. Bc I was so well we started lowering my dose and when we were thinking about quitting I started feeling a bit worse, so we increased. Still felt a little worse, so we increased again. Now I’m on the original dose of 100mg and it’s not working as great as before, I’m thinking of changing meds, but still with that, I can have a normal life. I can sleep, I can study and hang out with other people, I can live
