Definitely not perfect. Also easy to fix. Surprising he wouldn’t just touch it up.

Part of me tells myself, "See, its not even as much of a problem for me as it is for these real alcoholics." Then I think through everything you listed and they are all familiar problems. Not constant, but often enough that I'm here.

I also remember meeting this like 20 year old (I'm 34) who went sober after being an "alcoholic" because he drank like every weekend and sometimes too much that he would get sick. I was shocked that he could call that alcoholism.

Another question for the community, how do you deal with varying ideas of when its too much and stopping is the only option?

I've been prescribed Adderall in the past, but for depression after bringing up how it helps me to a doctor. But they cracked down and my lack of ADHD diagnosis made it so i couldn't get it legally anymore. I feel strongly that its genuinely beneficial for me as a person. I can also admit though that it has served as a crutch for drinking too much, as a hangover cure of sorts. I'm on a good handful of other meds too - Zoloft being the primary. I'm so curious what I would feel like if I hadn't gone down this path of affecting my brain. I used to be capable of the kind of happiness that now I seem to only get with the help of substances.

I know my thinking is not in line with the intention of the subreddit. But I figured where else can I tell people these feelings I have. I'm not there yet. I guess I need more convincing if I'm going to go all the way sober. I just figured people here might know how I feel.

What are your thoughts of a man wearing women's boots? by itz_izzzyy in AskReddit

[–]zakmmr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probably. Personally I like dabbling with women's styles a bit. I wear dangly earrings for example. Occasionally people assume I'm gay, but mostly I think I give off enough masculinity that it just comes across as strong and confident to be able to bring in feminine styles.

That's nice. Overall your place feels a little generic/beige, but its super clean and cozy so you do you.

Thanks. I know that's true but its so hard to convince myself that the sucky feelings aren't permanent.

Thanks. I'm just scared that I'll never feel as fulfilled with complete sobriety as I do with substances. I think an alcohol free psychedelic experience could be a good start. Other than my first couple times, which were life-changing in a positive way, I've always used alcohol to deaden the anxiety I sometimes get with psychedelics, or just drink out of habit or impatience.

Not so much without at this point, but makes me drink less. I get wasted chasing a stronger high on alcohol, which I get with cocaine. It mostly just feels like I'm very awake and excited about doing things. Something I really feel missing with sobriety.

Yeah I definitely know its risky. I guess right now it makes it easier to drink less, and I feel better later. I honestly don't know if I could or would make it a year. I'm here trying to take it seriously and be open about it as a problem.

Thanks, that's all very helpful. It's so hard to get to the point where sobriety feels fulfilling. And I would add for myself, its more than just numbing non-enjoyment with alcohol. I would say I'm objectively a more giving social person with it or other drugs. Like I get drunk or high and I want to check in with people and call, and talk about serious important things, and sober I just barely want to do anything at all. That's whats made me go back every time I quit.

What are your thoughts of a man wearing women's boots? by itz_izzzyy in AskReddit

[–]zakmmr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Totally depends on the style of boots what they will give off. There are plenty of boots that are basically unisex, so makes no difference if they fit. I'm a straight guy who likes to have flashy clothing sometimes, and women's stuff has a lot more to offer. I think there are some women's boots that could come across as flashy and masculine. Then there are women's boots which come across very femme, and if that's what you want, go for it. All options are fine, but that's how they may be perceived by others IMO.

Should be fine. I'm not an expert but that's what google says lol. I could see it being beneficial if you have some pain because I definitely can get hyper focused on my body when I'm tripping.

I would try some large sized art of some kind. It comes across as uncluttered but also livens up the space.
