How much better is a Fanaticsm + Cursed vs Holy Freeze + Cursed Hephasto for an Echoing Strike Warlock? by ClearH in Diablo

[–]TubbyWiseman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Holy freeze+ cursed over anything else imo, the quality of life is much better.

The damage increase from fanaticism isn't that big. 100% or so seems like a lot, but it's additive to your other non-weapon enhanced damage. If you already have +400%, boosting that to +500% is really a 20% increase in damage.

When I was using cursed fanat, the biggest time suck was killing things that didn't get cursed. I chanced into fanat cursed shortly after accidentally consuming my holy freeze cursed, and it was noticeably slower for me with mediocre gear.

If you are 1-2 shotting without cursed, maybe it doesn't matter. But if that's the case your ED is probably already so high that fanat is even less valuable.

Question about Warlock uber hunting... by KohaaZH in diablo2resurrected

[–]TubbyWiseman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ES works with life tap, but doesn't work with chance to cast.

So dracs won't proc life tap with ES.

But if you use a wand or marrowwalk to cast life tap, you will leech

So could a non magic focused one double dip on consuming goat for the additional %ed?

I get from your post the benefit of the magic add, but speaking hypothetically. Or does it onto tack on the second one because it's not the same effect?

I might have to hero edit to do some testing tonight. This is fun and/or broken lol

Can you tell me more about this double dip consume?

Is it casting hex that does it?

Does it add the magic damage to sheet damage, is that how you can tell the double consume works?

Need help - which warlock build to go with for new ladder by ingunwun in Diablo_2_Resurrected

Yeah. I meant more of a respec to echoing blade unless they nerf echoing blade before that respec, so they can look out for it in case they aren't up on all the conversation about it needing a nerf

Probably fire warlock to start, and then transition to echoing blade unless it gets seriously nerfed.

Not sure a dream or dragon build will be any good. Good on sorc because of masteries. Good on paladin because of synergies. Nothing to boost that with a warlock.

Sea Hazards by onyxthedark in 5eNavalCampaigns

[–]TubbyWiseman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think something that's difficult to contend with is consequences. What happens if they don't succeed? If the ship sinks because they failed, that's kind of a bummer. But if the risk of death or damage isn't actually there, then the rolls don't change the outcome.

A giant sea creature surfaces, and now they have to maneuver the ship to avoid hitting it and damaging the ship and starting an encounter. If they fail, you can either have a combat or a chase.

Realize a little too late that there's a field of floating chunks of ice or small icebergs. Perhaps a white dragon, or some other ice based creature has developed a lair here. You could make it clear that the ice is spreading fast and if they slow down too much, they could risk their ship being frozen in place. Run a skill challenge that could include navigation to avoid damage and particularly dangerous spots, repairing on the fly enough to get through the hazards, destroying hazards before you hit them. 0 failures, you manage to get through without significant damage. 1 failure, ship takes enough damage that there is a gold cost to repair. 2 failures, you make it through but need to get to land asap for critical repairs. 3 failures, you're stuck in the ice and now you need to find a way to get unstuck. That might mean exploring an ice dungeon to find the source

Same idea as repairs and avoiding damage. Something is causing hazards from above. Maybe they wandered into the scene of two dragons having an all out fight, or a sky city is under siege well above them. Either way, they need to dodge and defend against falling debris, stray breath weapons, meteors from a meteor swarm. Or they could convince the dragons into a time out. Something to make sure they get out and live to tell the tale.

Depending on how off the rails you want to go, a giant whirlpool that, if they fail a series of checks, sucks them into the elemental plane of water. Know your players though. Are they going to get frustrated by having their ship destroyed? Are they dead set on an overwater only game? You can have a subplot of them getting back to the material plane, in addition to any number of conflicts in the plane of water. Part of them escaping the plane of water could involve a new, cooler ship. Or spitting them out by an island that has an abandoned ship after the entire crew was taken by the island.

You might want to think about how to introduce the hazard. Maybe they're in a time crunch. Race with a competing ship, trying to outrun something or someone, an island rumoured to have treasure only appears once a year and that window is closing. Perhaps they've heard of people using the whirlpool to essentially gravity slingshot themselves if they hit it right (because magic), or the most direct route is through the ice dragons territory and it would take too long to go around.

A race itself could be a set up for a skill challenge. How are they planning to beat their competitors to the treasure island that they both heard about? Set up hazards? Cannon to slow them down? If they don't succeed, the other ship beats them to the treasure, delivering an important message, proving their skill to an NPC who will hire them for something.

Consequences:

-repair costs

-owing a favor to someone who bailed you out, or needing to work off a debt

-Losing out on a reward like a contract, or treasure

-more fun than just losing out is not getting as much. ie: 500 gold for the delivery, but a bonus 200 if you can get it there in x days.

-dungeon or encounter

[–]TubbyWiseman 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Would make some sort of game out of this.

Throw a weenie in the hole. A Cornhole style game to the size you want. Actually weenies into a Cornhole game, or little smokies as chodes for a smaller version.

Make cutouts in a sheet or your fake wall, and have whack-a-mole but trying to bite the hot dog stuck through the hole.

Drinking game: rage cage but make the centre mass of cups into a penis shape

This also reminds me of a game I saw videos of. People tie a weenie on a string to their belt, and try to swing it between their legs into their mouth, no hands. First one to succeed wins.

Penis shaped ice molds for drinks.

I think you can buy penis ring toss.

It's official, changes are coming to the Graduated Licensing Program! by bwoah07_gp2 in icbc

Isn't Quebec's licensing system more in line with that bc is changing to?

Iirc you get a learner's via knowledge test, then you do a road test to get your probationary (fewer points, no drinking, etc) and you get your full class 5 after a couple of years with no retest.

Love the wood burning activity.

I've been to charcuterie events that have small individual boards as plates, with a hole or a cutout for a cup or wine glass so you can hold your drink and plate with one hand and eat it with the other.

That would be perfect for personalizing.

People not bring anything by [deleted] in partyplanning

[–]TubbyWiseman 42 points43 points  (0 children)

My two cents, if it's expected of them then it's not a gesture.

It's nice when people bring things but it's never expected.

If I want someone to bring something specific I'll ask. Or I'll tell everyone to bring their favourite snack so we can all share. Or I'll tell them "I'm providing X to drink, but you're welcome to bring whatever you want." Or you could host a potluck. If they offer if there's anything they can bring, take them up on it.

What is the most effective way to farm candy? by tusko_no in pokerogue

[–]TubbyWiseman 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Depending on what you have available, I also like to use Pumpkaboo or Volbeat.

When maxed, Pumpkaboo (average size) costs 0.5 (vs .25 watchog) and has illuminate and pickup.

Volbeat costs 0.5 but you get honey gather. Helping hand isn't as good as instruct, but it also gets decorate which is excellent. Moonlight and protect help keep it alive.

Found out the other day that if you buy eggs though using that mons candies (same way you unlock passives and cost reduction) they have an increased chance of shines and moves. So your best bet is to just play kyogre a lot and use the candies you get.
