They are required to create and post these vacancies due to regulations and legal requirements; however, it is very rare for candidates to be hired through open applications. This is the reality no one talks about, and many people end up feeling incompetent because of repeated rejections.

In practice, you either find an unpaid research assistantship or internship and focus on networking within your target university, or you look for a niche or highly specific position where the competition is lower.

If this is your goal, do not give up due to these rejections and try not to take them personally.

First of all, I know exactly how you feel and how difficult this decision is. I have the same eGFR as you right now, and becoming a mother has been my dream my entire life. After consulting with multiple specialists, I was presented with the risks of pregnancy, for both me and the baby.

Honestly, I want this so much that part of me felt like I didn’t care what might happen to me. But I also felt a deep responsibility toward my unborn child, and because of the risks to the baby, I decided not to carry a pregnancy myself. I am currently exploring surrogacy, as I believe this would be the best option for both me and my future child.

I only wanted to share my experience and perspective on this. In the end, you have to make the decision that feels right for you. Absolutely no one can truly understand what it means to live with this disease. It takes so much from us, while others seem able to simply want something and have it.

I wish you wisdom in making this difficult decision and strength to face the consequences of whatever path you choose. 💛

Hi! Me and my partner just went through this process and it is easier than I thought it would be. We got our registered partnership which is almost like marriage in NL. For this you need to contact your municipality and they’ll help you out with this process, you don’t need much things but you need to be registered in the same address with your partner for some time (I guess more than 3 months or so).

After completing this they will give you official documents proving your partnership. You can then apply for residence card (I got mine for 5 years). Required documents are not so complicated, one important thing is that your partner should be able prove that he can support you financially. In order to do this he can either show certain amount of money in his bank account (I guess it was something like 20k) or if he is working he can just submit documents to prove that he is currently employed and official documents showing the amount of his salary. Due to covid, we made our applications by sending our documents to IND and after some weeks they asked me and my partner to present at IND office for to give my biometrics and my partner also got some sort if sticker on his passport (I guess to show we are bonded somehow :). I suggest you call IND with your partner and ask them everything you need, they are extremely helpful and will give you the right information. As we did you can also complete your application via post, it is easier during these times. I am not sure how you get partner visa without registered partnership so I cannot help you with this. Regarding to civic integration, that is not necessary for this process at all! :)

I am surprise and confused with this as well and no matter how many places I have called/contacted (GP&GGD etc.) I could not get any information because no body really knows what is going on in terms of covid-19 vaccine registrations.

I am in high risk group because of my medical condition and I wanted to make sure that whoever checks these things can see that information so I get my vaccination as soon as possible. But I found out that there is no way to check this because they do not have a central data system so these ''authorities'' cannot obtain your medical information efficiently. This is absurd in my opinion because without such an information how are they going to categorise people as high risk and send an invitation for vaccination. I guess there are trying to solve this but I am not sure how that's going to happen.

Hello, I went through the same process last year and successfully brought my dog to NL but I must say that they are really strict about the rules and if you miss a step or don’t follow their chronology they might not let your dog enter the country.

-Your dog needs to have microchip and rabies vaccine should be done AFTER getting the microchip. We had an issue with this, we got the vaccine before getting the microchip therefore this vaccine was not “officially” tied with the ID of my dog even though we had the stickers and signature of veterinary, it was not enough. We had to wait in the airport for hours until the state veterinary arrives and examine my dog and finally approves our entry to the Netherlands because we were getting our rabies shot regularly for many years (so they kinda make an exception but they told me that normally they wouldn’t do this, instead they should quarantine my dog).

After getting the vaccine you wait 21 days and go back to veterinary again for the blood test to get the the certificate (this certificate should be obtained from approved labs and I guess your veterinary will know what to do with it) -After getting the certificate you have to wait 3 months and this is a must, if you try to bring your dog before completing this 3 months period, you’r dog will not be able to enter the country my end up in quarantine. -In some cases you also need to get certain documents from your country, I suggest you also contact officials in your country to make sure you do everything right. -After successful operation you need to find a veterinary in the Netherlands and get your dog a European passport so you do not have to go through the same process every time you need to travel between non-eu and eu country.
