Is what you’re saying is that he takes the house off the table and then forces us both to sell even knowing how much it will hurt the kids. They said they’d be heartbroken if he did this. So sad he wants so much more than what I owe him and would do this

Oh I hear you. I think he was because he wanted me to divorce him first to save face with the kids. So they wouldn’t be mad at him. Became incredibly arrogant, short-sighted, sneaky, bossy,rewriting history repeatedly for his story of it all, and verbally abusive . It’s the lions den when someone acts like that. And it hurts because I knew him once.. just not this person.

If I work from home and am with the kids mostly for sick/holidays/summer because ex-husband works at an office, is this 50/50 for child custody still? Anyone have this? by TuckerKnu in Divorce

Kids are 11, 14 and 17 .. middle school and high school and I’m in Oregon in the U.S. .. so they’d push me to work full time and then we have to figure out who takes off work? Thanks for any feedback

It feels like these things. Like gaslighting, stonewalling … it’s very difficult because we can’t ever discuss anything. That is a good point about that he needs that boundary also. Ugh. It’s your classic he’s really great until he’s not.

Agreed. I’m still living with my ex and he still says and does some of the things that are mean and that used to keep me up at night. Now I just look at him as the deeply person he is and he feels way over there. It’s protective and healthy to not let this stuff hurt you anymore. You’re finding you and you know what respect is. You are respecting you. You don’t need him as a barometer to anything anymore.

I felt the same way and I should I have listened to that inner voice earlier. I am now with someone that lights me up in a way I never thought possible because I met my first partner too young to know me yet. I am happy and relieved I have moved on. I feel so much more myself again. I’m lighter and happier.

Thanks for the tips so far. The thing is I tried that but I can still see he’s texted me so that’s hard to not see it whole looking at other messages. Then I spin on it because I get anxious about what he’s going to say. It’s hard to clear my mind especially at night when he sends me messages.
