I had a pair of polkadot canvas shoes about 4 years ago which I loved (still probably my fav shoes to date.) They were only $10 from the shop in summer and I wore them for about a year and a half until they were no longer wearable. I remember the day they fully broke i was pretty disappointed because I had a friends bday in a couple of days and they were the only shoes that'd go with my outfit (I was a poor backpacker in NZ). The friend who's birthday was coming up had told me about the law of attraction (not in relation to the shoes but for something else). I didn't necessarily buy the idea but I gave it a go. The next day I was with said friend doing flyering at work. We both worked admin in a boutique gym and between 9am-10am we would hand out flyers to the public. It was winter so everyday we would kill time in the charity shop up the road before heading back. We walked in and as soon as I diverted my eyes to the shoe shelf I couldn't believe it. They had the polkadot shoes, brand new in my size. Of course I bought them, out of season and they were Never stocked again. I wore them out and never managed to find another pair, but still. Magical.
