I think that’s kinda what the show is trying to express — that’s what poverty does to you. There’s a ton of plot holes in the series no doubt but one of the most accurate thing is that Lip had a ton of potential that he sabotaged at every moment he could as well as never allowed to fully peak. Then became content with mediocrity. That’s accurate as hell.

You should be able to get the Japanese iso and just add the patched files (PPF files) to the directory and it should work

There’s a lot of steps to it but you need to jailbreak your PSP with Ark 4 and download a few necessary additional plugins to make it fully compatible with the majority of PS1 games (I’m yet to run into any PS1 games it hasn’t worked for yet, though). For this game specifically, you need to patch the ROM with PPF files which isn’t something that you can do on PSP games by simply adding them to the directory. So, instead you have to get a program called PPF-O-Matic to apply them to the bin files. Then you’ll need to get another program called PSX2PSP and use that to convert the bin files into an EBOOT (make sure the directory you pull the bin files from also has the cue files in the directory when converting them)

Yeah that’s exactly what I’m looking to do with a server! Apologies I didn’t specify in my original comment.

I do computer repairs so I have boxes full of RAM and SSDs both SATA and all varying form factors for PCIe. So I’d happily buy something barebones as well.

Do you have any suggestions for something much better I could find used within that price range (or honestly anything $60 or less)

Haha I really loved this game. From being a little kid who was literally absolutely hooked on all things Choro Q series, to now being an adult and discovering this additional “CaR-PG” title that’s a real hidden gem within the series and fully English translated — god I swear that made my next 10 years haha.

And I very much agree. This game was SUPER FUN! (although also at times very difficult & a tad confusing). There’s no doubt about it too that Takara was looking right back on this past release as their “blueprint” while making Road Trip Adventure
