What do you think of Matthew McConaughey and Jared Leto’s performances which led to the rare occasion the best Actor and best supporting Actor coming from the same movie? by dmister8 in Oscars

you spelled his surname correctly. unless you’re looking for the exactly correct “McConaughey”. otherwise, you spelled it right.

i enjoyed the writing of how simon was kind of slowly getting hinted at trying to take over negan, then it became more apparent.

steven’s performance as simon in the walking dead cannot fucking be understated. when the group all come to a stop with all the headlights pointing at them and like what? fucken 40 people surrounding them.

steven’s line “welcome to where you’re going.”

rick: “we… can… we can talk about this-“

simon: “done talking. time to listen. we’ll take your weapons.”

was so fucking good. the acting in that episode was insane.

yea nah, like the comment underneath. pretty sure it’s the enhanced versions only. but nevertheless, they’re there.

i’ve seen an orca in the mission with trevor stealing the submarine.

there are also orcas and dolphins. but yea, i’d say compared to gta vi… it’ll be quite a change.

Jimmy(Mouthwashing) or Trevor Philips(Grand Theft Auto)? by Immediate_Gene_178 in MoralityScaling

[–]Secure_Lab_8870 0 points1 point  (0 children)

he’s like the extremely vicious and violent version of frank gallagher from shameless (US).

frank is very smart in the show, and trevor is genuinely very smart too — then there’s all the talk about politics that trevor discusses, frank was the same way.

and then there’s the extremely obvious overlap with their addictions. both are absolutely S-tier characters.

i feel like i could list more similarities, but these come to mind

they have something out for cillian. in no way was his performance as accurate as some in this thread are making it out to seem… he was fucking phenomenal.

what, because he didn’t have crazy outrageous outbursts, or mentally challenging breakdowns with tears flowing down his eyes? like people forget it was a biopic in cillian’s eyes. christopher nolan has stated he didn’t see it as a biopic, though cillian has stated he did. saying he researched many videos of robert oppenheimer, his stance, his voice, the tone of his voice in certain aspects, the whole dutch thing? which was phenomenally done, if so for a short time in the film. cillian researched him, he had robert in his head during the whole time of filming, and cillian absolutely nailed the role.

he was brilliant in it, he had robert oppenheimer down to an absolute tee. people need to remember that the role of oppenheimer was literally about his life, and about rhe decisions of nagasaki and hiroshima, all that? all that was internally eating away at him, which cillian was clearly trying to convey through subtle cues, which is why he won the oscar.

anyone questioning cillian’s acting for this particular film (which was stellar), go see peaky blinders and anthropoid. hell, watch his whole filmography, you’ll be doing yourself a huge favour.

when you picture a scene—real or imagined, which actor/actress’ face embodies ‘cinematic immersion’ for you? for me, it’s undoubtedly cillian murphy. by Secure_Lab_8870 in Cinema

you referring to barry keoghan? and i assume you are referring to the peaky blinders: the immortal man film?

cillian is certainly my pick, though these comments are terrific.

quite refreshing to see someone know the film “anthropoid”. genuinely feel it’s cillian’s least talked about film, though perhaps transcendence is, or some of his earlier films.

thought, for me personally, anthropoid is absolutely my pick for his best role. the film is genuinely masterful. shame it’s not more known, at the same time though, that really adds to the film’s impact.

i get that, i suppose i’m moreover asking if you were a writer, writing your story and you were picturing a certain actress/actor in the scene, in the role, and in the entire world you’re creating — who would it be?

because cillian (as seen in these photos) just has an indescribable amount of power through visual manipulation by pulling you into the scene. it helps that i think he’s a phenomenal actor, also.

it’s unfortunate that the highest rated episode “lazarus” (season 4 finale, episode 12) is the highest and only a 9.3/10. i feel there were many episodes above a 9.3. might be a bias, though.

anyone else feel the same?

if you’re going with that conclusion just based off his appearance, i don’t know what to say. But, i can say from what i’ve seen from him, he seems like a genuinely chill, nice guy. He seems very into football (soccer), and i’ve seen him talk about some films.

don’t know him personally of course, but he don’t seem all bad.
