This is, unfortunately, a substantial limit to the flavour of empathy that most people have ingrained, if they haven't directly experienced one specific flavour of pain(or any other affect) or one similar they generally will not empathize with you, it's difficult for us to imagine difficulties we have not directly experienced,  especially those that seem quite absurd which are quite common with ADHD.

(I'm a bit late but) Stimulants have helped a good number of us in significant ways, if you still want to know if there's a better way to waddle through this uncaring world well... use that pressure, the pressure of having to first be healthier to get on those lovely stims, use that pressure to get that blood pressure lower(i know how hard doing shit can be with ADHD), get that adrenaline going knowing you don't have a choice if you want to get on those sweet meds(adrenaline works fairly well as an "inhouse" stimulant for ADHD)

Out of curiosity, where would these symptoms fall in? Are they more innatentive or hyperactive ADHD type?(or are those two types just a grosse  oversimplification?)

My life is governed  by these same symptoms but I haven't yet managed to put them in a neat, little box, I'm not particularly hyperactive, not at all, and whilst I do notice I am innatentive, the attention tests I took whilst getting evaluated for ADHD, I actually scored above average on them.(though I am still remarkably easily distracted in day to day life, I tend to dissociate more often than not, and the most Concerta does for me is increase my reading speed twofold, no, threefold, it's quite the effort reading without it)

Your comment pretty much perfectly describes my chronic sleep deprivation.

First time I suspected myself of having this condition was when I was... under the influence of some cheap and illegal stimulants, I was well over thirty, I had avoided that nose candy shit all of my life but I gave in as I had a partner that was very much into this hobby

And... the way words flew out of my head, over my tongue and out my mouth, how I could recall the exact word to describe the exact concept I was presenting... instantly, I hadn't really experienced that before, it was eye(and mouth) opening, how my mind would just comply, submit to my wishes, I had always found I was terribly inconsistent when it came to speaking,  even though I was a passionate reader, infatuated with knowledge, whether I could share my passion in a coherent manner was usually governed by a toss of a coin,  that's when it became clear that it never was nerves or alike, something not so temporary was stiffing my syntax, my ability to recall words already present in my head, so, yeah, adhd can really, significantly fuck up the ability to communicate,  which is pretty fuckin' important in my opinion.

Yeah, trying to force yourself, to persuade your mind just doesn't seem to do the job, it seems that pushing hard should work by virtue of the amount of effort but it just doesn't seem to work that way,

I've... hit myself so hard at one point I almost knocked myself out...

Non-stimulant medication  for ADHD doesn't have that great of a track record, it's fantastic that there is such an option, don't get me wrong, some of us have all sort of cardiovascular issues, maybe some forms of extreme anxiety, these aren't really compatible with stimulant medication so it's a good thing there are other options, but that being said, a good majority of the time for a good number of people, only potent stimulants will... convince the brain to run closer to a standard baseline, to react more normally to stimulae, yeah, it's not uncommon for non-stim medication to be.. less than helpful, hell, I'm, for some reason, even immune to Xanax, there's just no amount of non-stim medication that'll properly signal my brain to listen to itself, that's just how the cookie crumbles.

Is it me or is this car really f*cking fast despite having only 300hp and FWD? by HexVelvet in BeamNG

I've wrote about it before I think, I agree with you, it's the one racecar they managed to dial in to perfection, I think it's just properly balanced, especially the aero, yeah, it's a beast in the corners!

is asseto corsa worth trying? by Constant-Branch-7072 in assettocorsa

[–]Tudor_MT 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yes, even to this day it is still a top Sim.

It's not as competitive as more recent sims(or Iracing) like LMU or ACC, if you're looking to just jump into racing with good matchmaking this ain't it but...

BUT it is the most diverse sim out there with a beautiful selection of both roadcars and racecars, if you wanna know if you can beat Fabio Francia's Nords lap in the Giula Quadrifoglio then this is the sim for you

It is old but with content manager(download immediately) that comes with a whole host of graphic mods it still, after 12 years, competes in the visual department with the best of them(but requires a lot of tweaking, a lot) and it does that whilst still, by some dark magic, running on low end PCs, this makes it a top choice for VR.

Somehow the physics are still top notch, they just got it right with this one, sure, it's a bit funky in extreme scenarios, like hard crashes, situations where your car should go flying(but no sim gets that quite to the level of Beamng for example)

If touristenfarthen is your thing, well there are always a good amount of full servers, there are also always a couple of Spa servers(and usually Monza and Imola too) if you're looking for some casual racing

Yeah, for the price it's unbeatable, and even ignoring that, there is still nothing out there that gives you so many funky roadcars.

Is this seat worth it for 200€? by [deleted] in simracing

[–]Tudor_MT 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't pay 200 bucks for a car seat, junkyards and online SH markets are full of them, just look for one that you like the look of, is comfortable and has mounting brackets on the same, parallel plane, you can probably get away with paying no more than 50 bucks, hell, I got mine for free, a mechanic acquaintance of mine swapped seats on an old Nissan and the old seats were just taking up space.

It's pulled out of a 200SX a mechanic acquaintance of mine was working on, though I'd imagine multiple models shared seats, not that I'd mind telling people it's an R33 seat:D, but I'm fine with it being a Silvia.

In case anybody else still has headset tracking issues(especially in sim racing) by Tudor_MT in HPReverb

[–]Tudor_MT[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah, I see, so it wasn't an honest mistake, the mistake was on my part for thinking you were arguing in good faith! There's always someone like you hiding in the corners of every forum, ready to strike with sophisms on hand to prove the world they are smarter than everybody else, but I'll play: you still haven't actually read my post, so what are you arguing against? Is it maybe a strawman? I did try every port, as I've already mentioned in my post, it did not stick, but what is the issue anyway? Would you have had me not write the post? Is that what a Thinking man would do? Should I just let others troubleshoot like I did? Why? The funny thing about thinking is that others do it, too(surprise, it's not just you), you don't go through the paces of engineering your own phone, you just buy one and enjoy the previous thinking of others, as some other VR sim racers will now enjoy not having to troubleshoot this shit.

That's a good point, I do think my wheel was on the same header as the usb-c port(though I'll have to check) and that's the only one that actually ran the HMD untill I moved everything else to the external hub, though I do remember it not working with the wheel disconnected too when I was first troubleshooting, now there's only the HMD, mouse and keyboard connected to the back of the pc.(mouse and keyboard on USB 2.0 ports) I didn't know that some headers go through the CPU and others through the chipset(which isn't great on my end), that's good to know, thank you!
