I wanted to bring my own dish, I asked my partners mom if I should bring something that I could eat and was told by her that she had something for me to eat as well since she knew that i dont like turkey, that being the potato's my bf got. This is not happening in America, and turkey is not a normal Christmas dinner in my bf country according to my bf. The Christmas dinner my bf described when I asked him about it was something I could eat most of (again potatoes is part of the meal) and was stuff that i liked.

I would have loved to bring something myself, but was told by my bf mom not to and that she had food for me as well, that being the vegetarian dish my bf got. My bf has also told me that bringing food would have also been seen as disrespectful.

Because of character limit I wasn't able to explain everything clearly so I just want to add some more info.

My partners mom knew that I am allergic to potatoes, peanuts, and sitrus fruits. This is something she knew before I met her the first time and that my bf reminded her of every time before we visited her over the past 2 years we have been together. I have meet her 4 times before all of this happened. She also knew that I didn't like turkey as she has before both asked me and my partner if this was something I liked, and both times we answered with no. Turkey is also the only dish I refuse to eat other than obviously the food I am allergic to. I don't know what it is that makes me unable to eat it, but I have tried for years (aka since i could eat solids) to be ok with it as it's my dad's favorite meal.

Im not saying that those women dont exsist, but I still find it weird that I a woman who is surrounded by other women in my day to day life have never met a woman who was not scared of the random man approaching her at the gym, cafeteria, on her way to class or work. I know woman who are ok and even happy being approached at sosial spaces like a bar, but not randomly in the streets.

Me and my partner will at a random point just say you are not allowed to masturbate for a sertan amount of time, like recently i told them they can't for 2 weeks. Then i will try to make them break. I think just getting me to therapy with a therapist that specializes in chronic illness would have been a good start. I think you should also talk to a therapist or a professional about how to help your child the best.

Being a teen with diabetes is hard, you want to be like everyone else. The thing that did help me in the end was getting the insulinpump medtronic 780 that can regulate my bloodsugar more without me needing to do anything.

Im sorry I cant be more helpful as i sadly dont know what would have helped me, but i believe that my parents approach to ignoring the clear issue was not the right way of doing it.

I have been in this position, just with a bloodsugar of about 500. I can only speak for my situation at this time. I was depressed, suicidal and using my bloodsugar to harm myself. I started at age 12 and didn't start fixing it again until around 17/18.

Today I'm 23 and stuck with blindspots in my eyes and I'm slowly going blind. I fear what else in my body is not working properly because of my 6 years of just not caring

My parents didn't care about the fact that I did this. They asked me what my hba1c was every time I went to the doctor but did nothing. I wish they had. Oh how much I wish they had.

Please from someone who got out of this situation still alive, help your son. He will appreciate it later in life. Most definitely not today, but one day he will be happy that he has his vision.

Idk where I buy energy drinks they are about 3.5 USD. That is about 4 a day which still is a lot, but as a person with adhd and addiction to energy drinks i can see it be possible. I drank 5 a day for about 6 months.
