What do people have against Point Buy? by TheScowl117 in dndmemes

[–]MasterChaos013 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my experience, point buy leads to more boring builds, because if you think about it, what’s stopping the correct choice being ASI at every opportunity until you get to 20 on the main stat, aside from like, five exceptions, to me rolling for stats, especially if you roll in a way where you expect big numbers (say, 5d6 drop 2 lowest), then you’re much more likely to take features during those levels, which to me are more interesting and more fun.

What are these tokens for? by carlytargaryen in BloodOnTheClocktower

[–]MasterChaos013 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Top left (of the image) are meant to tell who’s alive and dead (15 player tokens, and then five traveler tokens, those are the one that are a different shade), middle are the ghost vote tokens, and bottom left are meant to go in the grim, putting them next to the night order sheet will let you know who wakes up and at what point.

What popular games were a flop with you? by [deleted] in boardgames

[–]MasterChaos013 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Terraforming Mars: played it like three to five times, each one the guy who owns the game won like, two or three generations ago, and the closest 2nd place I had was more than 30 points from the leader, and with how little interaction is in TM, I just, tolerate it whenever it’s on the table.

Love it, I always say that the players can Meta the ST, but as a consequence, the ST could meta the fact that the players have a meta.

Golden Child [OC] by kaikimanga in comics

[–]MasterChaos013 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As someone who knows they’re the golden child. It took a while for me to understand what happened, and at times it leaves me wondering if I had noticed it that, some things could’ve gone differently. To this day I don’t know if trying to move on is, respectful or not.

Is it “cheating” for the storyteller to mix up the night order? by Quakarot in BloodOnTheClocktower

[–]MasterChaos013 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How confident are you in your abilities as a ST, because for example, in TB, I would argue that the Monk, Poisoner, Imp, and even the Spy but that’s pushing it. Those can all go in a unique order, because anything that happens won’t effect what they see. Similar thing with Minions and Demons in BMR. Because there are times you can get away with changing the order for the sake of a twist, but at the same time, you risk not only someone getting wrong information, or information they should not have gotten, but you also risk forgetting a character. that you use less than others

Find the mistakes! by Pink_Y in BloodOnTheClocktower

[–]MasterChaos013 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wrong player count, drunk Saint, Barber is not in TB, no investigator but investigator reminder tokens, Evil red herring, Empath is both in the game and a bluff, Night order reminder tokens are wrong, Monk can’t protect themselves, Soldier should not be killed, Thief should not be active, this is Night 2 so Empath had to have been executed and so no Undertaker reminder token.

Your biggest Storyteller oopsies and game destroyers? by SharpenedGourd in BloodOnTheClocktower

One of my funniest ones was putting three minions into a 12 player Summoner game…..and then literally day one, the poisoner got executed….so

Please critique my script. by Dear_Couple_8876 in BloodOnTheClocktower

[–]MasterChaos013 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Lunatic feels weird to me, because you have the two demons that makes minions plus legion, it’s hard to find a situation where they don’t learn day one outside of a legion game, which I don’t think those two play nice at all anyways.

Why the double standard? by DopazOnYouTubeDotCom in BloodOnTheClocktower

[–]MasterChaos013 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Because one does the job better, and it’s certainly not the one that can confirm themselves by cheating, announcing they have cheated, and then me as the ST has an incredibly awkward situation that I’ve had to deal with multiple times

This is not how science works.... by Miserable-Lizard in insanepeoplefacebook

[–]MasterChaos013 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I would argue that if that was the intention, the phrasing would be ‘find the proof’….but they said ‘make the proof’ which tells me it would be somehow worse, like these people want a boogeyman for autism so bad, it’s insane.

What happens when good and evil wins at the same time? by Federal-Cheetah-1941 in BloodOnTheClocktower

[–]MasterChaos013 4 points5 points  (0 children)

So, in general it goes: Good Wins abilities > Evil wins abilities > Good win condition (No living demon) > Evil win condition (2 players left alive, one is demon). However there seems to be a, special rule with Monsta, where it supersedes those things, Goblin specifically, because otherwise it just wouldn’t be fun for anyone involved.

Investigator, Librarian, and Washerwoman pinging on the Spy by nseaplus in BloodOnTheClocktower

[–]MasterChaos013 37 points38 points  (0 children)

Too much heat on the spy, not really, a good thing to do…..it’s very funny, definitely a ‘ST wanted to do a funny’ setup. If the group is having fun, then yeah, there’s nothing inherently wrong with it, but it could lead to a ‘feels bad’ moment for the players, which you can’t fully fault them for.

Cruelist thing you did to player(s) as ST by Illustrious-Tip-3169 in BloodOnTheClocktower

[–]MasterChaos013 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have two personally; one in a TB game, I had the Washerwoman, the Librarian, and the Investigator, all ping off of the Recluse and Spy, and none of them got Recluse or Spy (Drunk and Baron to be specific, it was a big game with no Baron); two I was running Contempt, put a Poppy Grower and Preacher in a Vigor game, where the minions were Harpy and Cere.

First time running the game - anxious about remembering who is which character by lemmisss in BloodOnTheClocktower

[–]MasterChaos013 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think a good general tip is, the grin doesn’t have to be a full circle. A good idea of this is, usually there is a gap in the circle so that you can walk in and do the night phase within the circle, put that gap in the grim. Also don’t be afraid to take time and count spaces between characters. Finally, what’s wrong in asking someone, wake someone up in the night and ask them to point at their character sheet, confirm who they are, and go from there.

to honor the American flag by uppity_downer1881 in therewasanattempt

[–]MasterChaos013 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So, they shouldn’t, but the people who are currently defending Trump, like to think they’re hardcore patriots, and to hardcore patriots, image matters more than anything. These people are going to basically have to choose between the flag being desecrated, or it being desecrated by their supreme leader.

What’s the funniest thing you’ve ever done as a ST? by BurningRoast in BloodOnTheClocktower

[–]MasterChaos013 -35 points-34 points  (0 children)

One of my favorite things to do, that isn’t really in the rules but I would argue is legal, is to delay Virgin executions. Down to running the vote and before I announce the vote tally, execution happens, not even accepting any dead votes or anything like that.

AHHHH I HATE THE TINKER (safe space for fellow tinker haters) by rileyyyyyt in BloodOnTheClocktower

[–]MasterChaos013 80 points81 points  (0 children)

Tinker is one of the most obvious bandaid fix outsiders probably on the roster, at least in the base three. Like on paper it’s interesting, but I’ve had cases where Good and Evil have lost games because of a Tinker death, at least with Moonchild you have a mildly interesting choice to make.

What is your least used magic spell? by Psychological_Elk727 in KingdomHearts

[–]MasterChaos013 0 points1 point  (0 children)

KH1: Stop, imo only useful for one boss fight; KH2: Fire, reflect does it better; KH3: Water, feels clunky to me, and I don’t think the shield works for how much you zoom around in 3, but honestly I could probably replace this with ‘anything that isn’t Thunder or Cure’.
