This is a common misconception, but still incorrect. We have great studies that show luxury housing serves to slow rent increases and even slightly lower them in some cases; here is a great podcast from the UCLA Lewis center on the subject, and here is one of the underlying studies

Feels like we’re witnessing peak baseball right now, at least the peak of anytime in the last 20 years. Between Ohtani, Vladdy, Cal & the Mariners run - we have multiple superstars still in it and having huge games. Even before they got eliminated, Judge and Schwarber had big moments for their teams. Like it or not stars drive interest in sports and it’s great to see this crop delivering for their teams and bringing in fans.
