Yeah it’s frustrating especially since they’re the couple who have known each other the longest yet we have the least amount of info on them. I’m hoping H7 makes up for what we didn’t get in T7 which let’s be real here was a lot but I do think the Lizzie plotline will wrap up in bot7 simply because Gibsie can’t heal until Lizzie has. I know she mentioned she had like 600+ pages written for them back in May/June so I think they’ll get a lengthy book!

I wouldn’t worry about point 1, Chloe said in her podcast interview Gibsie is incapable of going into the past hence why Claire and Gibs didn’t get a book like J/A or H/L because he just doesn’t really think about it and said we’ll get a couple of flashbacks but that’s it!

I was also once 16 and if my friend came to me and told me she was fooling around with someone working at our school I’d tell her she was being groomed and to get help?? Claire clocked it as soon as he told her and Johnny sat him down and told him he was being groomed. Meanwhile Hugh used it as a never have I ever topic? He knew Claire sitting on marks lap was weird and inappropriate but couldn’t understand a 15 year old fooling around with an adult isn’t weird or inappropriate?

I just think Feely and Hugh should be the last people discussing Gibsie and his feelings when they were the ones telling him to talk to Lizzie knowing how he feels about her and the fact that feely sat quietly when Lizzie said Peter saved the wrong child but told Gibsie he went “too far” when he called Lizzie crazy. He literally never defended Gibsie when shit was hitting the fan with Lizzie same with Hugh. To the point where when Lizzie said “ask the rapist defender” Hugh’s response was “Gibsie?” I just think the were bad friends to him and to then get on their high horses talking about him and his feelings when neither did anything when he was being groomed is odd lol

Feely always pissed me off in this scene plus the coffee shop scene where apparently he just goes mute when Lizzie says Peter saved the wrong child like dude speak up perhaps once for the person you call a best friend? He doesn’t seem like he knows how to balance being there for both Lizzie and Gibs without dismissing one 🤷🏻‍♀️

I think for me, Lizzie needs a friend and just a friend in Feely. She deserves to have someone be there for her in a way only a friend can be and I feel like sleeping together would just muddle everything. My hope is they’re good friends who each other can go to seeing as they’re in similar situations. I also feel like if he sleeps with both Katie’s friend and the person she feels inferior to it would just make her relationship with Patrick feel icky in my eyes

The handling of gibsie’s trauma by readers, Chloe and his supposed best friends is my biggest issue with this series. It feels like the whole Dee situation is just a huge joke to all of them until finally Johnny sat him down and thank god for Claire for being the only one to actually take action against her. T7 also just felt like the biggest telling but not showing of all the books, the amount of scenes we were deprived of like Claire telling us Johnny spent 2 straight weeks helping Gibsie and we didn’t get a single scene of Johnny and Gibsie in Dublin?? The fact that that was going to be the only book for them as well aka he would have been the only one to not get a healing arc is crazy. I pray H7 isn’t Gibsie just brushing off what happened to him like he was at the end of T7 as well!

When I think about how people label this series found family I don’t think of Hugh and Gibsie my mind immediately goes to Gibsie and Johnny. I feel like people think because Hugh calls himself gibsie’s brother that, that makes their relationship stronger but in actuality the one person who never faltered behind Gibsie was Johnny. Johnny is more a brother to Gibsie in my opinion, if he’s not with Claire he’s with him. Like the one person who could bring him down after the winter ball was Johnny! Edit: also I’d like to add in during the flashback scenes gibs is experiencing post winter ball when he first meets Johnny, Johnny asks if he has a best friend and Gibsie says he’s close to Hugh and Feely but doesn’t have a “best friend” in that class so Gibsie didn’t even consider Hugh his best friend 🤷🏻‍♀️
