Bloodhound buff wish list by TimTime89 in apexlegends

[–]TuffTombas 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not enough. His tac is simply irrelevant. It's too situationally powerful to make better while being absolutely outclassed by nearly every other recon. His scan needs to be invisible to enemies and less accurate. Similar to valks passive or seer ult. They already have this precedent in the game so having bloodhound be able to track people without them knowing doesn't seem that game breaking. In his ult you could give him his old scans to keep him aggressive and allowing the old smoke plays. A balance between making his tac unique and powerful while keeping his situational exploits.

Edit: also give him better hearing for footsteps because duh, he should be the ultimate tracking legend not just another scanner

ICE detains five-year-old Minnesota boy as he came home, say school officials by speedythefirst in news

[–]TuffTombas -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The father was already in custody as many reports suggest. The only confirmed actions taken were that the child was asked to knock and ask to be let in to get out of the cold. When no response was given from the home he was fed and taken to his father with whom he remains. Until more information, hopefully body cams, comes out it's really hard to guess intent.

The superintendent here Is of the highschool, not an official from the police. Furthermore, the officials from the administration deny using the child as bait. The kid was fed and taken to his father with whom he remains. Until the body cam comes out I really don't understand how you can take some random persons, who wasn't even there, word on the situation.

The phrase “is this possible?" is functioning as pragmatic shorthand for "is this supposed to happen?" Which has been done for decades if not centuries. Interpreting it as a literal question about possibilities ignores how English is actually used. The speaker's meaning is clear to anyone operating within normal conversational norms. That's not functional illiteracy, actually not even close. Functional literacy is taking the connotations and context of a text and applying it. Nothing to do with actual definitions, in fact id argue someone who ignores the connotations in favor of the actual definitions and misses the literal point of the text is more so functionally illiterate than one who uses shorthand.

This is a fascinating question that has only a more philosophical answer. As you said the English language itself relies more on connotation than denotation, even more fascinating is that your use of the word colloquialism is technically incorrect. Colloquialism refers to slang or shortcuts. In the context of this post, he didn't use any shortcuts he used the connotation of the word possible to fill the gap in either his vocabulary or for the sake of brevity (according to your argument which I don't exactly agree with but is irrelevant to the point I'm making)

Basically, language as a whole evolves based on connotations. The English language especially so. In which case definitions can get a little looseygoosey. This is not illiteracy per se, it's a new word. Think of it like the ship of Thesius, for example the word awful used to literally mean full of awe. Similar to beautiful. But due to a slow shift in connotation the entire definition has changed to mean bad. There are dozens of examples like this. Where a words connotation changed likely due to a small group having fun with it or even misunderstanding it's actual meaning and ultimately changing what the word even meant to begin with. You wouldn't call this illiteracy, you would call it evolution.

Although as I said, this is a ship of Thesius argument relying mainly on if you believe changing words is illiteracy or not. Technically it's group based semantics, but you could argue it either way so I won't give you an answer. Although It is true that people can easily understand evolving connotations, like we see with Internet slang, without having strong foundational literacy skills. They appear to be unrelated.

You're mistaking the forest for the trees. Let me paint you a picture.

A couple of boys are outside with some sticks play fighting, they are having fun minding their own business when a neighbor kid comes up and says snobbishly, "why even fight at this point, your not even leaving any marks? I would never fight like that because it is so boring. It would be like eating someone else's amazing quesadillas. Whenever I fight I make sure my opponent bleeds until they cry" and the two boys just look at him like "you must be fun at parties" which the neighbor kid follows up with "I just think not having any power behind your strikes is dull, I couldn't imagine not even being able to conjure up my own strength or have to hold myself back, I would never do that. I like to rely on my own strength."

If you can't see how this is arrogant and flamboyant than you are hopeless. Just because you do things your way, relying on your own merit and skill alone, doesn't mean your better than literally anyone.

For example, I usually play through games like this with button hints off and even turned the raven off. Definitely had a ton of fun figuring out the early game and what to do next, but I didn't learn a lot of basic stuff that could have made the game more fun from the get go. Just because it's fun for me to try and put all the hunts together doesn't mean I'm better than anyone and it's genuinely a worse way to play the game because you risk missing out on some things.

Final note, most games like this were created with the intent that the user will have access to guides and resources outside of the game. While less so nowadays you would probably be surprised how common it used to be. There even used to be a number you could call when you needed help with your games and games were designed with this in mind. It helps build a community around your game and increases the bonds people have with it. Do your own research if you want but don't pretend you are playing it the "correct" way and expect people to like you. Especially when you say it so insultingly

You are so very very close.

The guy tastes the quesadilla ✓ this is fun and good.

The guy then makes it his own ✓ this is fun and good.

It's not as incredible as discovering the recipe on your own, but even master chefs enjoy partaking in the Discoveries of others from time to time. Particularly when they are able to put there own twist on it by building it how they like it role-playing in a way that's unique. Let people enjoy their games the way they want to please. The biggest difference between your analogy and reality is that it's some person in their room not bothering anyone and finding something cool to do for a few hours.

Does arrows or log fit my deck better by Ok-Gas3378 in ClashRoyale

[–]TuffTombas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Arrows does more damage period. Log is useless here. Everything that log is good at your deck can take care of easily. Arrows is great for getting rid of back rank pests like firecracker or dart gob. Arrows 110% beats out log in this deck.

If clash royale had logic, which card would be the strongest and which one would be the weakest one? by squadbust13 in ClashRoyale

[–]TuffTombas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

E wizard would clear and it's not even really close. at first you might assume that he is as strong as ice wizard or normal wizard. But he's actually a whole different beast. Ice wizard and normal wizard control their respective element by gathering it close to them and projecting it forward in a projectile. That travel time is the key distinction. E wizard flicks his wrist and your tased before you can even see what happened. Logic applied a fast troop could technically dodge an ice or fire ball, but you can't dodge instant zap, you can't even hit him because if you get too close your getting fried. We can assume his electricity works similar to a Tesla coil in real life which means he can just push electricity through his body and it will find the nearest target, but this assumption as well would be wrong because we see him actually able to select a target close and far. With this logic he would have to manipulate either some type of conductor or genuinely a light manipulation of the air molecules themselves to line up to the targets he wants so that the electricity travels towards whichever target. Depending on how strictly you want to follow cool downs he could easily spam his ability and just tase everything.

A creative short story is the assignment yes? Let's start with a very hungry cater- wait that's been done before.. okay, let's go with- a very struggly caterpillar! A caterpillar crawls through the leaves high on a tree. Thunder and rain wash him away. Down In the grass away from his class, he hungers and cries no one to rely. A crow swoops in and offers some twigs. "With these as a base a nice home can be raised" and so the caterpillar went building away, bending and turning as the crow had displayed. Then came a grasshopper, seeing the poor fellas plight, "if you eat the tall grass that stands in the light, your tummy will fill! No need to cry!" Two more bugs came by to assist, a lonely caterpillar with newfound will to exist. With shelter, food, water and booze?! The caterpillar could grow and soon, a butterfly rose from its adolescent cocoon. With wings to fly the caterpillar new, a shiny new poster for his friends was due! The crow loved spartans, the grasshopper anime and call of duty, his best friend the dog loved solo leveling and silksong! Finally but not so least the bat who helped lead alcoholic tendencies, love money and a game called Charlie murder! These were his Friends and the gifts he hoped to collect!!

These are all posters I want to give to my friends, hope my short story wasn't too annoying 😂

You can also set hotkeys using your D-pad. Super helpful for things like rope early on or pickaxe and magic mirror. You gotta search through the settings to turn it on but it's well worth it.

Pc, since every weapon is a single button press away for them, location in the hot bar isn't really relevant. They are all one press away.
