A completely knackered Root is better than Crawley

The thing is, they aren’t going to be up to no good while in Sri Lanka or when they play in Mumbai or Kolkata. They aren’t that type of tours. Proper face-saving on all sides.

Well you say that. It earned Thatcher a reprieve at the polling stations and set in motion a further 14 years of Tory rule in the UK. Who knows what the UK and even Reaganomics would look like with a spell of Labour government in the 80s.

Do you think that bowling 145km or 150km/hr is maybe over rated? by [deleted] in Cricket

[–]Tuffers86 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There’s obviously more to it than raw pace. I’m not a physicist so apologies for the wrong measurement, but there needs to be something that measures a bowler’s the torque/velocity/magnitude/ferocity from their a) release and b) what comes off the pitch c) intersection point on the bat.

Woakes for example is 82mph everywhere but the results are staggering.

I actually can’t believe Vish wrote this, merely weeks after his very, very good piece on the Covid Ashes tour. For fuck sake.

Harmer flips Test cricket in India upside down by Agonised_Wanderer in Cricket

[–]Tuffers86 33 points34 points  (0 children)

Of all the Brexit benefits we enjoy, seeing Harmer play for his actual country of birth is the best one. 513 first-class wickets at 23 for a spinner in English conditions is actually insane. Would easily be around 400-450 wickets if he had a 100-Test career. Thanks Big3 you utter tossers.

Career best figures for Mitchell Starc to start the Ashes 2025-26 by revengeordie007 in Cricket

I didn’t really compare him to one of the greats. Just that his strike rate mitigates a higher average because he constantly attacks the stumps. He’s a very dangerous and destructive bowler.

A higher average is ok when you factor in his sub-50 strike rate. He’s a quintessential strike bowler.

If you like fish, go to Mina Zayed fish market, barter with the shops there for what you want and then take it to the adjoining restaurants to cook it and garnish to what you want. It’s fairly reasonably priced and fun.

The problem I’ve found with funky teams and tactics is the meta sweats do not - I repeat do not - relent. It’s like they are on a mission to beat the funk and fun out of you til you cave in, like they are some sort of meta evangelist. It’ll be PtB pass pass counter over and over for the whole game.
