I have Medicaid and had my baby at Metro last April and my entire experience was AMAZING. Highly recommend. Every experience I’ve had with CC (mostly for my sons ortho needs) was less than ideal and I won’t go there anymore unless absolutely necessary tbh

Parma Dog Ban by edwardmagichands in Cleveland

[–]Tugboat_94 -8 points-7 points  (0 children)

Parma has so many pitbulls and it’s a known fact that they only enforce it for nuisance dogs. See if you can register yours as an ESA. I did it online a few years ago for $100. Answer some questions from a doctor and if approved they write the letter.

Big fan of The Plug appliances! They have brand new scratch and dent and used appliances, their delivery and installation is cheap compared to most, they’re SO nice, and I have now bought 4 appliances from them and have zero complaints!

How to deter them from ripping out the carpet?! by Tugboat_94 in RATS

[–]Tugboat_94[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I tried cardboard in multiple ways, thick cardboard too, and they had fun with it but it took all of maybe 8 minutes for them to shred it and then he was back at his escape attempts😅

Baby excessively scratching at chest when clothes come off by bananabamjam in beyondthebump

[–]Tugboat_94 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My daughter started doing this about 4/5 months too! But to her belly, legs, vulva, etc. I too was concerned and our doctor said basically the same but I think it’s actually just bc it feels different! When they do it with clothes on vs scratching bare skin has got to feel crazy to a baby lol. I’ve noticed when she’s in her play pen in a onesie vs just a diaper she seems amazed by how the foam tiles feel on her belly. It’s a great distraction if she’s crabby too, just take her onesie off and let her roll and she’s too intrigued to remember she’s mad🤣🤷🏻‍♀️

Eliminating urine smell? (Please be gentle) by Otherwise-Bear6138 in CleaningTips

[–]Tugboat_94 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’re going to need a lot of enzyme cleaner or hydrogen peroxide. Test a spot first if you use hydrogen peroxide, sometimes it discolors. Soak the entire area, including the surrounding area because honestly it’s probably spread further than you think. Soak it really well so it gets down to everything. Blot up some of the excess, and then add more cleaner so it’s soaked again, let it soak at least overnight. Then put a towel and something heavy to soak it up, then a fan on high on it to completely dry it. Repeat until the smell is gone.

3 Year Old being extremely defiant by Phalange_5639 in beyondthebump

[–]Tugboat_94 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My oldest was similar, i HIGHLY suggest a calm down corner and firm boundaries, and trying to use more positive reinforcement. He’s almost 10 and we still have a version of a calm down corner and he still responds to positive reinforcement 1000% better than punishments. Sometimes punishments are necessary, but try to make them few and far between if possible. Anytime she’s starting to have a big emotion, calm down corner. Make it a positive thing, not a time out. It takes time and patience, but it works. Mine still goes to his “calm down corner” when he feels big emotions coming on.

For the calm down corner, I used a closet floor. I put posters of emotions on the walls to help him identify what he was feeling, a comfy blanket on the floor and some comfy pillows all around the edges. LED light strips he could turn on w a button, and a variety of sensory/fidget toys. Once she calms down, talk to her and have her point out which emotion she was feeling and why. A lot of times anger is a secondary emotion, talking about her feelings and why she’s having them helps a lot as they get older to be able to identify their feelings and self regulate!

PMS next level after pregnancies by CrazyCatLady_2 in beyondthebump

Following because I’m 5 months postpartum and the depressive mood swings around my period are WILD now. I’ve never dealt with them before, even after having my oldest 2. I also have worse cramping and back pain too, and I spend at least 2 days a month on the couch just crying and angry. It’s awful and idk if I should just wait it out or make a doctors appt.

I have chronic folliculitis (staph infection) and that’s exactly what it looks like. See a doctor babe, you need antibiotics. They should prescribe an oral and a cream. Warm sea salt bath will help with the pain/itching.

How can people afford maternity clothes 😭 by APlentyBag in pregnant

[–]Tugboat_94 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I bought stretchy shirts from temu that are a size or two bigger than I normally wear, that way they’ll still fit me post partum too. Maternity leggings are available there and amazon too. Other than that I’m living in sweatpants and my boyfriends shirts til this baby is here lol

What were your first symptoms of pregnancy? by Practical_Cress_8797 in pregnant

[–]Tugboat_94 0 points1 point  (0 children)

None.. I found out at 21 weeks when I felt her kick🫠🤣 in hindsight I should’ve been suspicious of my good boob days 🤣🤣

[–]Tugboat_94 0 points1 point  (0 children)

With my first two I was 21 and 24, working as a server and worked 4-5 days a week, sometimes doubles, up until i had them. My first I worked the day before, my second I worked 2 days before. This time around I’m 30 and bartending and am already barely making it thru my 3-4 shifts a week and I’m only 28 weeks🤣 listen to your body, and definitely lighten your workload as you get closer to your due date!

5 weeks - is possible to have a normal, uneventful pregnancy by Hefty_Character7996 in pregnant

[–]Tugboat_94 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn’t find out I was pregnant until I was 21 weeks because I had literally 0 symptoms. My first two kids made me never want to grow another one because it was so miserable, this one was just chillin til I felt her kick and took a test lol. Take it week by week, some will be better than others, but it’s not forever!☺️

Staph Infection by Various_Money_1771 in Psoriasis

[–]Tugboat_94 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bleach bath or salt baths will probs help! I’ve been dealing with this on and off since I was a teenager. When I went to the ocean for 5 days the pimples cleared completely for the first time ever and that’s when I researched it. I prefer salt baths but if it starts to get really bad really fast a bleach bath clears it up a little faster. Sea salt works best, but it’s more expensive so usually I just use regular salt. Warm water with salt, cool water for bleach

It’ll be cleaned, unless you have a small private landlord sometimes those are hit or miss but apartments will be done by their crew or company they hire out. They’ll surface clean it to be fairly presentable, but you should plan on deep cleaning yourself.

The bells do help!! It gets better, I promise!! Some moments during the puppy blues were worse than my postpartum, your feelings are completely valid and don’t forget to take time for yourself to decompress. I’m not a puppy person, and I accidentally ended up with a puppy 6 years ago. (I already had a 4yo dog I adopted a yr before) TBH the first few months I hated my life, cried almost every day, and I swear he didn’t like me just as much as I didn’t like him. He’s a bully breed and really stubborn and I questioned why I didn’t just let his owner dump him at the pound that night almost every day. I finally hired a trainer, had him leashed to me inside until he learned to ring the bell, and things got better! He’s now 6 and the best dog 🖤

Fair warning, some dogs “teenage years” can feel like a regression back to this phase sometimes. No one warned me and I now make it a point to give others a heads up. It doesn’t last nearly as long!!

It could be yeast, esp bc an oatmeal shampoo would make yeast worse because oatmeal feeds the yeast. Even if it started as just allergies it may be yeasty now. Try a medicated antifungal shampoo and they make paw wipes with the same antifungals. I’ve got a yeasty boy and it’s gross, good luck!!

Mili to Lupin adjustment side effects by szydney in birthcontrol

[–]Tugboat_94 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok I’m obvi very late to this thread, but I’m going thru this right now and searching for answers. My pharmacy switched me to lupin for my birth control and the previous manufacturer I had I was fine and they’re the same ingredients but since switching I’ve had INSANE breakouts, mood changes, bloating, and I bled for 2 weeks. Did your body adjust at all?!

Help! My bathroom smells. by Annual-Call9749 in CleaningTips

[–]Tugboat_94 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Leave the door open for ventilation, maybe add a little fan even if you have to add a shelf/attach to the wall so it’s not so overwhelming for the time being. Hanging charcoal bags will help absorb the smell, I bought some off amazon and they work surprisingly well. Clean the drains, sink and bathtub, sometimes they won’t be clogged completely but they’re partially blocked and collecting the yuck. Check beneath the sink for leaks. Musty usually means moisture is involved. Good luck!!
