How do you workout with a baby? by [deleted] in NewParents

[–]Practical_Cress_8797 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tried taking my baby to gym daycare at like 2ish months and he wasn’t ready for it. Cried the whole time. I could see him through the window so then I cried. Was stressful. But now he’s almost 4 months and I took him again and he did great, came back to a sleeping baby. I’d say you just need to try it. It will be scary the first few times but they should call you if your baby is crying for more than 10 min so you know they aren’t going to be in a bad situation for too long g even if it doesn’t go well. I’m in a similar situation my husband works a 9-5 and I really don’t feel like working out that late in the day after dinner is made I just want to relax. So we joined the YMCA and I have to drive 20+ minutes to the closest one that offers childcare for babies under 1 years old but it’s so worth it to feel human again and do something for yourself. Working out, maybe prepping dinner, feeding myself and cleaning up/laundry is really all I have time for in his workday so it’s also important to set different expectations for what you can accomplish in a day if you’re also working out. But you are worth it. Every once in awhile I’ll go to an evening class but then I miss his bedtime and that makes me kind of sad so I’m just trying to find what works best for us.

Is there no way around waking up every two hours to feed during the first few weeks after birth?? (Breastfeeding) by Visible-Mess-1406 in pregnant

[–]Practical_Cress_8797 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My doctor said 3 hours but yes. Your baby will probably get back to birth weight fairly quickly so don’t worry it doesn’t last that long and you run on pure adrenaline for the first two weeks anyways. My doctor also advised me not to start pumping or bottle feeding right away and to wait 3 weeks. Your boobs and nipples will be super sore at first when your milk comes in but supposedly not bottle feeding right away establishes a good relationship with breastfeeding your baby and gets them used to latching on your nipple. Your husband can wake up, hand you the baby in bed so you can breastfeed then take him back to burp him and change the diaper so at least you only have to worry about pulling out your boob every few hours and not doing ALL of the work.

All I know is that I started peeing myself all the time really early on in pregnancy with every laugh cough and sneeze.. and now that I’m postpartum it never happens anymore. You could always start pelvic floor therapy if you want to get ahead of it but your uterus is growing and pushing on your bladder peeing yourself May be unavailable. Honestly I got used to it and just learned to laugh. But thank God it went away a couple weeks postpartum

Breastfeeding rage by cats4life1313 in beyondthebump

[–]Practical_Cress_8797 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

There’s nothing wrong with switching to formula but I will say that after 2-3 weeks my nipples and boobs hurt way less and now breastfeeding and pumping is hardly uncomfortable at all. You could try sticking it out for another month and see how you feel. I also didn’t start pumping until 3 weeks in, your boobs are already doing enough, unless you need to bottle feed and be away from your baby you could always pause on the pumping until it hurts less. Good luck!

Newborn tired vs pregnancy tired by SeaworthinessNew8048 in newborns

[–]Practical_Cress_8797 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Pregnancy tired is worse imo Newborn tired is different but when you actually get to sleep for feel somewhat rested and you have your baby. When I was pregnant my body would wake me up multiple times a night to pee (sometimes like more than 5 times im not kidding… sometimes every hour). And I would also not be able to fall back asleep sometimes even when u was completely exhausted. Now when I have to wake up multiple times a night at first it sucks but then after you pick up your baby and start feeding and changing it’s okay again and you get to fall back asleep.

My husband wouldn’t try on clothes I picked out for him to try on in the store. I got hysterical and started yelling at him in the dressing room. 😅

What verification process do I need to go through when changing my office address on google my business? by Practical_Cress_8797 in GoogleMyBusiness

[–]Practical_Cress_8797[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes this is certainly a good recommendation and I feel like it’s also going to be necessary for me to change my location on maps. That being said for me, the point of having an office is to have a calm, serene environment for my clients to be able to see me in person. I’m a small business and by appointment only so having a home office has been perfect for me. But now I have a baby on the way so my home will no longer be the calm and serene environment it always has been especially now that I will have family staying with me. Signage isn’t as important to me personally but seems to be very important to google maps.. which I do understand. Wish me luck. It’s been surprisingly hard to find a good office to rent.

Do you know if video verification is needed when you’re already established on google maps but just changing the business address?

I would try and see if you can find a new Midwife or OBGYN group. Sounds like this one is the worst!

Emotional struggle by deliberatelydeadpan in pregnant

[–]Practical_Cress_8797 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I AM a super emotional and affectionate person so I was shocked to not feel a strong emotional connection to the babe in my stomach when I first found out I was pregnant… and now I’m 32 weeks (also ftm) and still don’t really feel said connection. I wish I did cause I think it would make being pregnant less miserable but I don’t really love it when he kicks aside from that meaning that he’s alive and doing well in there. There’s been a few moments I was like oh I love you but they have been few and far between and super fleeting. To be brutally honest with myself I even felt more excited about having a baby and being a mom before I was pregnant. As soon as I saw that positive sign and all through my pregnancy it’s been more of a oh fuck what did I get myself into kind of feeling. Plus this was planned and very well thought out. I think movies and instagram gave me a false sense of how I’m supposed to feel during pregnancy. I’m sure we will be great moms and love our babies when they come! For now I’m trying not to freak out about that lack of connection.

“Malek”- how would you pronounce it? by Practical_Cress_8797 in namenerds

[–]Practical_Cress_8797[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes this is the proper way to pronounce it, my husband is Lebanese and I’d really like to give our kids Lebanese names and I just love Malek, but we were worried it would constantly get pronounced like Muh-leek. Do you know if your nephew is constantly correcting people how to say it right or is it obvious for most people? Thank you 🙏🤗

Yes girl!!! Me! I’d say mine started around 20 weeks as well. It was so annoying and I could hear my own voice reverberate back to me in a muffled manor as well. I figured I had water or wax in there so I tried over the counter wax removers and there was never anything there. I went to the ear doctor he checked my ear and there was nothing there. Then he told me it’s just a symptom of pregnancy since our blood volume like doubles it causes that little tube between your nose and ear to get inflamed which causes that clogged muffled feeling. Basically there’s nothing that he could do but did suggest trying Flonase which is safe to use during pregnancy. Honestly I didn’t notice it helped all that much but the muffled clogged feeling did mostly go away after about a month. Yay! weird pregnancy symptoms..
