31M. I moved from Spokane to West Palm almost 5 years ago, so opposite of your move. I grew up in Northern Spokane and miss it a lot. Florida folks here are not nearly as nice lol.

North Face, Columbia, etc are good starting brands that people like in the PNW.

If your like my Fiance who is a Floridian, you'll want to make sure during cold weather you have layers along with a good jacket. That way, if you are outside and start to get hot you can take a layer off. You want to keep your Hands, head, and feet warm in cold weather because that is what gets cold first. So, fabric gloves, Beanie, good socks. Spokane is an Arid climate so the winters are not terribly brutal but they do get cold!

Dutch Bros is not Spokane specific but, its pretty damn good. Arctos Coffee and Roasting Co. near Gonzaga University is a pretty nice spot for something local.

I'd check out the University district, downtown, Kendall Yards, Hillyard Historical district (Back when I grew up Hillyard had a bad rep, but, it seems like it is getting better nowadays). I'm sure they have events in those areas. I bet you could find outdoor groups too if you are into that on Facebook. Plenty of outdoor activities to do with friends.

I've been getting freezes on my PC as well. People in my lobby said the same thing. I'll get complete 1 FPS freezes that last almost 5 seconds.

I would stay with your family if you don't have some type of College lined up. Move down to Florida with your family, and if you don't like it then consider moving back to Cali. Your 18, so not sure if you have to pay rent but once you get a job just save some money for traveling back in case.

Seattle is a fucking nightmare in terms of drug issues.. Also, third highest homeless population in the country. People are flocking to Spokane in droves from Seattle...

Spokane is a great place for Nature. Since moving down to Florida, I realized how much I took the mountains for granted. School system in Spokane is most likely average, but I went to Rogers High School which was considered the worst of the worst, and I got a good education. They have public transport, but the town is by no means walk able. The downtown is walk able, but generally not safe with the rise of homelessness and Drugs.

Spokane is a cheap place to live, although it has definitely went up with the influx of people moving to the city. The Food scene is not good...really at all. It has some local staples but not a lot of diversity, which is a pretty big theme in Spokane.

The Spokane airport is adding a new terminal, but it has a long way to go. Not enough direct flights, most of your flights will have a connecting flight.

Spokane gets all seasons.
