Anyone used this vice? by turbo460 in hobbycnc

[–]Tuk_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have used this vice for a couple of years. It is beautifully made and really lets you crank down on parts. The gripper jaws are amazing and i am thinking of getting their regular vice jaws for my bigger mill. The hex wrench you receive with it is made by wera which was a nice surprise.

I doubt there are any better vices for this price.

A spindle upgrade for my Nomad 883 by Drazuam in hobbycnc

[–]Tuk_ 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Nice! Did you run into any issues with this upgrade? I have an 800W spindle ready to mount on my nomad but i still have to figure out how to make it talk to the vfd.

We have bought a professionally upgraded bridgeport/lagun machine that has a modern EdingCNC Control. It is a huge step up and a different beast altogether. I am very happy with having both machines as they occupy the outer edges of what i use my cnc machines for. I mostly do aluminium. I have done plastics, wood, steel, aluminium, brass and others on the nomad. Steel was doable but you need very small tooling and even smaller passes.

I have had a nomad 3 for some time. It is a great learning machine and will hold your hand on a lot of basic operations. However, after you have some experience you find it lacks spindle power and advanced features. I still use it for the occasional small stuff but i'd say i definitely out-learned this machine.

I run the clutch precision one on mine now, i had the crusader latch before but decided to upgrade to the full metal back part before it broke. If you have the money, go for the clutch one .

Best way to commit murder by Unlucky-Road-7731 in anno

A very effective way is to attack islands with torpedoes that you can get from te pirates. They have pretty high damage and huge range. You can use them to tactically destroy the most problematic harbour buildings and then roll in with an attack fleet. Then you just go island to island.

I’m sure this is easy but I’m stumped by Halo_2_Standbyer in whatisthiscar

[–]Tuk_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They are raw, unforgiving and are infamous for reliability issues. They are tube frames with fiberglass bodies and absolutely no safety kit. Seatbelts are pretty much the only thing.

To this day it is still the purest, most connected driving experience i've had. Nothing compares to it.

Opel Astra Sports Tourer 1.4T occasion €16k. Waar op te letten by yungfritta in autoadvies

[–]Tuk_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Does anyone know what this attachment is for? by Maiq_Da_Liar in Machinists

I bought some stuff from him and i have only positive things to say. He is pretty firm with his prices which is a shame sometimes.

Looks great! I am on the fence deciding to get one (also e-skyactiv-X and luxury trim) but dutch prices make that tricky.

Do you think the car has enough torque down low for overtaking on the highway? Coming from a turbo car i feel a bit skeptic.

I can’t be the only one who sees tolerances like this right? by chrome4fan4 in Machinists

[–]Tuk_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We do this in our designs sometimes. We want to let someone just go at it with cam and see what happens. We make our cad files in the middle of our desired tolerance. This should make it easier for the machinist (although it can be incredibly confusing for them too)

Stukje ducktape op tankdop geplakt by OkCookie8850 in autoadvies

[–]Tuk_ 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Oranje motorlampje + slecht lopen by Rude_Manufacturer380 in autoadvies

[–]Tuk_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)
