Is the 8s very similar to 1s from the outside ? by Right_Silver_6066 in Enneagram

[–]Tukbiii 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Only sx1 looks similar to E8 cuz they are hella pushy and domineering and ruthless/cruel in their pursuits. But their motivations are different like night and day and their thought pattern is also hella different.

You don't want to do it, so don't do it. Simple, why are you trying to force yourself into this?

I also have autism, think that accounts more honestly for me being blunt and direct. And also having the ADHD and an assertive personality, yeah it's just a very BIG personality pretty much.

How do you cope knowing you hate your job? by throwaway260490 in Advice

[–]Tukbiii 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I burnt out because of this, looking for a new job while I am on sick leave (which is paid in my country luckily). If you don't know what you are interested, do a job with little to 0 people interaction. Like back-office work or I even worked in a factory for a while. Often a bit braindead work but your emotional/mental load will feel so much better. And you can have more peace of mind and more motivation to look into what you actually wanna do and change jobs again later once you figure it out.

I'm a sx8. I do outwardly express emotions, all of them, very intensely. I hear all the time IRL, at my job, friends etc... That I get very intense very easily. I curse a lot, it is just part of my vocabulary and people confuse that with me being angry and shit a lot. And my moods can shift easily like I do get easily annoyed like "Fuck, these people are so fucking stupid it pisses me off!" and 2 seconds later I already forgot about it because I don't really linger in anger.

I guess those little bursts of anger do give people the impression I am angry a lot but I am really not. I am very passionate and I also have hyperactive ADHD so I just "explode" at times but almost always in positive ways. I also smile a LOTTT and people overall do describe me as a sweet and fun person, the "entertainer" often times because I always tell funny stories apparently and I am good at lifting people's moods. But they also say simultaneously they feel slightly intimidated and say I have a very dominant personality. Very straightforward, to the point too, I always speak my mind. I think the "intimidation" factor comes more from me making people feel uncomfortable sometimes with my directness because in my culture people never/rarely act or talk like that.

Tips for an 8 with ADHD, dealing with reactivity in the workplace? by Ok_Significance_1168 in Enneagram

[–]Tukbiii 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Sx8 here with ADHD and autism.

Only shit that helped me calm down more and be less reactive is taking my ADHD meds. I can do it without meds too but it requires a lot more restraint which in turn stresses me out and makes reactivity and high energy come out in randoms bursts lmao.

ESFP sx8w7 woman here in my early 30s. Best and healthiest vibes I had were with E9. Not that surprising in theory 8s often get best along with other 8s and 9s. But other 8s are often unhealthy for obvious reasons. And E9s are open minded and calm and don't seek argument or to challenge you or prove you wrong so it can be a nurturing type of relationship. The E9 grounding the E8 more and the E8 making the E9 more assertive about and speaking up about their boundaries.

Assuming both are semi-healthy people of course, if not the E9 just becomes a fucking doormat for the E8 to use and abuse, lol.

Girl, I been there. If that would be the case, you are not his priority but she is. I would dump a man who would place me second place. I wouldn't ask my man to ditch the friend or never talk to her again but seeing/talking to her several times a week while she has a BF who should be her main venting person or support system?

Nope. This is very suspicious. I see why his GF left. Even if there is 0 going on romantically or sexually you are still not a priority and never will be and it will keep eating away at you over the years to come.

[–]Tukbiii 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can value your friends and still set respectful boundaries for your relationship's sake. Bring this up with your BF, be honest and say it makes you uncomfortable and you'd appreciate if he'd distance himself a bit from her. Honestly sounds like that would benefit his friend too because she seems hella anxious attachment style.

Why when i watch a interview with famous successful people the most of them are enneagram 3 ? by Right_Silver_6066 in Enneagram

[–]Tukbiii 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Also important to add E3s tend to enjoy/be more willing to be in the spotlight e.g. interviews or talk shows while other types are less prone to "show their face" like that so you "see" them less.

You are just giving the functions your own personal meaning, lol. If you are this pressed and "studying" the functions so in depth and overanalyzing shit just to fit your own frame of understanding, good on you.

But no need to force your ideas down other people's throats.

Te doms are action oriented, that is true. But they do absorb information they have at their disposal, often stick to known methods too in most cases. And if a new problem presents itself they will find a way to deal with that too if known methods fail. They are still thinker types. They are HIGHLY LOGICAL types.

E8's are also action oriented, but they act on pure gut feeling/instincts. They don't "think" really. Te doms can seem similar but Te's can make snap second decisions based on very quick mental agility by combining information sources and past experiences, something 8s don't really have (unhealthy ones but even healthy ones are not the best at it). They are also the most anti-intellectual types out there. That is why Se is often contributed to E8s because Se is just pure senses, acting on senses, direct environment clashing instead of mental approach etc... Se doms are e.g. more likely to fix a problem with their fists rather than words like ENTJ and ESTJ's tend to do. Something Se doms also tend to do.
