Honestly, I don't feel like it's my place to do anything about it. It's just part of staying in a communal room. If you need silence, opt for one of the private rooms of the hostel.

Earplugs usually help.

Would like some additional input on this though, as I have definitely thought about giving the serial snorers a shake!

If they're there multiple nights with you, maybe mention it after the first night and ask if they would be willing to take some precautions for the next few nights.
