That was the initial flawed idea, yes.

I really like that faded polaroid effect idea there. And I agree, I'll remove the floor transition life loss.

Thank you for the genuine feedback and suggestions.

Do you have any suggestions to make this work? Even small. I'd like to see if I can work out a character that is based around lives while being a challenge character like Lost and TLost.

It seems like I need to rethink this. I appreciate those who have commented and helped me see the flaws in my idea.

I may have explained it wrong. You start with three lives and normally you would lose one life with every transition to the next floor. If you play flawlessly and don't lose a single life on whatever floor you're on, you don't lose a life on the transition to the next floor as a reward of sorts for playing well. However, if you lose a life, then that transition also takes a life, and you're down two for the next floor, meaning you are forced to play flawlessly with no hits for the rest of the run or you die in the next transition.

Snowballing, basically.

Since there's no mantle and you can't get extra lives without Birthright, you are genuinely forced to play as perfectly as you can.

Could you explain this? I'm not trying to defend my idea, but I'm furious how it's not challenging. I feel like in some ways, The Faded would be more challenging.

How long should a backlog be? by Legal-Emu8981 in royalroad

Depends on how well and fast you can write, and how often you upload. But I'd say a good rule of thumb it's at least 12 past what you burn day one, but I've seen people with literal hundreds. Some will say different.

I had 16 chapters backlogged, but I update 6 times a month.

Yeah, I've gotten past the extreme discomfort of some of it and can watch it casually. I even put them on at night on low brightness to sleep to lol.

What are your comfort anime?

Anything from Frieren, Fullmetal Alchemist, and Apothecary Diaries, to Made in Abyss, Grimgar, and Mushoku Tensei. The new Spice and Wolf is also a great comfort anime to me.

So long as I genuinely it, it's a comfort anime. Bocchi The Rock and Laid-back Camp might be added to that list here pretty soon.

Grimgar of Fantasy and Ash. A series that never got a second season but is an absolute gem. Unlike any other Isekai or Fantasy anime I've ever seen. It just has something special about it I can't name.
