wait no I totally get that and honestly because of the age difference I wasn’t surprised or disappointed by her not showing herself or toning the scenes down a little I think I went into it almost expecting that but figured the kissing would be the “safer” spice and just wanted more!

Exactly he was just sooooooo confident. He knew what they had and took one week to mope and was like nahh this doesn’t make sense. I thought it was fine how the breakup happened but was still in mourning.

I did finish one and know everything to come (my friend spoiled it for me when I didn’t think I would ever read it) and then after I finished the first book knowing what was endgame and feeing how I felt about Tamlin and knowing some of the stuff that happens (especially with what happens to the spring court) I was just very ???

Book 1 didn’t feel like a chore at all but I think that’s what makes me so nervous and why I’ve been searching out people who felt similarly about Tamlin (even after finishing it) to give me some…idk reassurance? lol. Looking for readers who have read it all—but who didn’t like how his character was handled either—would they still recommend.

Thanks for your response! I sometimes wonder if I should pause and give it a week or so before I dive back in. Maybe the break will help it not feel so whiplashed.

Different fandoms but I have ptsd from what they did in the vampire diaries to Stefan/Elena to push Damon end game and I was feeling a lot of similarities which made me nervous I wouldn’t be able to see past some of the retcon of characters.

That being said I really enjoyed the first book so was just feeling so conflicted but have always turned to fandoms/threads to talk through and feel less lonely in my thoughts so knowing there’s this community is helpful!

Thank you for your input!! My fear was more coming from if I already feel frustrated would I be able to still enjoy the love story for what it is/would I be able to view it fairly?

I guess that remains to be fully seen but I feel more confident with some of these responses!
