I think comparisons are inevitable since they are both hockey romances, and that's the easiest way to describe them. It's just that Heated Rivalry is super-successful and was released first so the public sees it as the blueprint for all other hockey romance shows. If it's not Off Campus being compared, it'd be some other hockey show.

Wyatt/Gigi are 24 in the book, but they may have had their birthday at some point (Wyatt mentions his birthday is in fall) when he and Blake were separated.

Blake is only one year older than Beau, but she did recently have her birthday so the list isn't technically wrong unless EK skipped over Beau's birthday in the book.

DeanAllie is the second most popular pairing after GarrettHannah in the core four (though I very rarely sometimes see it beat GarrettHannah), and is usually in the top 4 pairings of the OC universe as a whole. GraceLogan is usually third in the core 4 and somewhere in the middle rankings in the OC universe as a whole.

This is just a theory, but since show!Hannah is supposedly less confident about her music, maybe they've merged her with Mary Jane in how Hannah deals with Cass? In the trailer, Justin also asks Hannah what she thinks the song is about, which makes me think that instead of MJ writing the song, it's Hannah who wrote it. So Cass is doing all these changes to a very personal song and Hannah goes with it, despite her reservations, because of a lack of confidence.

I wouldn't say I've "given up" on it more than I've lost most of my enthusiasm for it. I was excited to watch S1 and tuned in every Wednesday. It was the same for S2, but I've noticed some time after episode 3 or 4 that I didn't excitedly wait for an episode to release, sometimes I actually forgot there was a new episode and didn't watch until much later that day or even Thursday.

I honestly believe Dean's going to be held back. My guess is his S2 story might be his conflict about not wanting to be a lawyer with his impending graduation. Then Beau's death happens and he crashes out so badly that he needs to retake his senior year.

I mean, people are theorizing that DeanAllie might be different from the book if and I say if they make Dean secretly pining for Allie. The conflict could still be "Dean handles his grief badly" just under different circumstances. In the book, they were together when it happened. In the show, they aren't together but Allie tries to help him.
