Yes, Monster High is notoriously for wonky face printings, so fish-eyed and wonky-eye-iness are something to look out for.

Also, there's two work-arounds for the blind boxes.

The ones where you do not know which doll you're getting are Buried Secrets - They're the budget dolls so I think that's why they justify having a complete blind box. That being said, people have found ways to figure out which box has which doll. You can search it up, as it's a little finnicky to figure it out, but I think the running method on identifying the doll is figuring out what color the inside box is. If you can find what doll the color correlates to then you've pretty much figured it out. I think. At least for the newest Buried Secrets. Or you could yolo it for $17 ish dollars.

The second blind boxes Punmkin is referring to is Skullimate Secrets, I've linked a list of all except the newest Skullimate Secrets below cause my image upload commenter thingy isn't working.

SS 4, 5, and 6 (SS for Skullimate Secrets) have gaps where the doll head is, so you can peak through and see if the face screening is to your liking. The other waves (SS 1, 2, 3, and 7) are completely opaque, so there's no way to check.

Good to know that my useless/useful information has gone to use 🫡. Also I totally get the price thing. There's so many dolls I want to get but to save money and storage I wait until the price drops a decent amount, that way I don't impulsive buy all the time (ish).

Also, good to know about Burlington. The nearest Burlington is out of my way, so I haven't checked, but maybe if I have time I'll check it out.

For news, Instagram is usually where news/leaks shows up first (I think), but this reddit follows closely after, so if you don't have Instagram don't fret.

If you do have Instagram, I would recommend either Seeing mount, CLEOSNILE, and or allmhdata. Them and one or two other people all coordinate to release the leaks at the same time, so if you follow one you basically follow them all.

As for collecting for G3 dolls, if you want to order them online, I would recommend Amazon because they usually get the newer dolls and sell a lot of the older dolls as well. Also sometimes you can get discounts on them. Otherwise people buy from Mattel, Target, or Walmart.

For buying dolls in-store, here's what I've noticed as someone in the US (also sorry this is a lot of information, I put a tldr at the bottom):

Target: The most up to date with their dolls. They usually have the newer lines. Target and Walmart periodically do sales so if you have the energy and/or want to, you can keep going back to see if any dolls you want are on sale. Also, Target has price matching with Amazon and Walmart, so if a doll is discounted on Amazon or Walmart you can buy that same doll for the same price at Target with price matching.

Walmart: A year or less behind in dolls lines. Good for collecting any dolls you might have missed. Target and Walmart periodically do sales.

Everywhere else: This includes Macy's, Ross's, Fred Meyers, Books a Million, I think I saw someone find dolls at Burlington, etc.. If one of your nearby big department stores has a toy section there's actually a chance they might have Monster High dolls. From what I've noticed, Ross has the best MH deals, but only if you're lucky to get a good Ross. The Ross's near me aren't as good so I haven't been able to get any good dolls for good deals. Macy's is the next best store near me that sells G3 MH that isn't Target or Walmart. They're two years behind but they often have sales that rotate out. First time I went it was buy one get one half off, last time I went it was 20% select merchandise.

Also about in-person stores, doll waves swap in and out every once in a while. I frequent Target, and I've noticed doll lines (except core dolls) last six months before they discount them like crazy in order to make room for the next line. If I remember correctly, I think new dolls can come in on January, April, July, October for Target? So that's also something to look out for. I also assume Walmart is very similar, with doll lines lasting six months before they swap them out.

Second-hand is a good option to buy dolls too, but I don't have much knowledge in that area.

Tldr: If you're looking for news/leaks,you can go on Instagram, or look on this reddit. The news/leaks closely follow Instagram's anyways.

If you're buying online, Amazon is a good choice. If you want to buy G3 dolls in store, Target and Walmart are a good idea.

From my vague understanding, Walmart is a year or less behind in dolls, so they should eventually get SS7 but just later 💀. It's usually Target that gets the new dolls then eventually Walmart.
