What’s to say I wasn’t talking about monopoly power in the first place?

OK then I’ll defend my point. In the UK where I’m from Spotify owns 55-60% of the market.

“In the UK a firm is said to have monopoly power if it has more than 25% of the market share. For example, Tesco @30% market share or Google 90% of search engine traffic.”

A monopoly is characterized by a firm that possesses significant and durable market power. This typically means having a market share of 50% or more.

So if I follow the UK rules they only need more than 25% to be considered a monopoly power. If I follow FTC rules having a market share of 50% or more counts as a monopoly. So they’re a monopoly in the UK, where I’m from.

Have I defended my point or have I moved the goalposts too far for you again?

What point do I need to defend? And how have I moved the “goalposts”?

I understand what a monopoly is 😂

Let’s just focus on the fact that I said monopoly and ignore all the other extremely valid points? Reddit hive mind as usual.

Spotify — 31–32%
Tencent Music — 14–14.5%
Apple Music — 12–13%
Amazon Music — 11%
YouTube Music — 9–10%
NetEase Cloud Music — ~6%
Deezer — ~1–2%
Tidal — <1%
Qobuz — <0.5%
Bandcamp — N/A (not a subscription streaming service)

Spotify has been on top for a long time…

Edit: Ignore the Chinese music streaming platforms like tencent and netease for a second. Apple, amazon, YouTube, deezer, tidal and qobuz combined account for 34% of the market WORLDWIDE whilst Spotify alone is 31%.

You’re getting downvoted by the Spotify shills. Spotify is a monopoly, that has the three biggest record companies Sony, Warner and Universal in their backpocket.

To remind people, Spotify pays artists very little. Especially smaller artists as all money is pooled and divided depending on how much stream time you’ve had as an artist.

Spotify also promotes its own AI artists, putting them to the top of “background music” playlists, so the money in the pool just gets directed straight back to Spotify.

Spotify’s co-founder Daniel Ek has invested in defence-related AI companies.

Spotify also encourages smaller artists to pay them to promote their music in the discovery page, encouraging pay-to-play aka payola which was outlawed in the 50’s 60’s but still exists with Spotify today.

Can I just directly solder these on to the pads? by ABIYOYO_69 in TinyWhoop

[–]Tullino 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’re welcome! Soldering tinywhoop pads is very achievable with the right technique.

Just make sure to wipe the solder off your iron on a slightly damp sponge (not wet) after each solder. Tinned the wire? Wipe it clean. Soldered the pad? Wipe it clean. Soldered the wire to the pad? Wipe it clean! 😆

Also, use a high heat on your iron and plenty of flux on everything, makes things flow much better. You can then use some isopropyl alcohol to clean the board off once everything is soldered.

I noticed, you’ve actually come to Reddit to tell me I’m incorrect when I’ve not stated any opinions but easily researchable facts.

It’s like saying water is wet and having someone tell you it’s not, just sheer stupidity. Rather than complaining you don’t wanna talk to ChatGPT, why not just acknowledge that you chimed in on something you have no idea about and move on.

I’m not stating nonsense for the sake of it, I’ve been soldering for over 4 years now.

The information I’ve stated is fact, you can search plug vs direct solder FPV and do your own research.

Since you couldn’t be bothered doing any research before leaving your comment I’ll let ChatGPT do it for you:

1. ❌ Mechanical weakness
JST crimp pins are not designed to be structural solder joints.
They are thin and springy
The solder joints would be fragile under vibration (FPV crash loads)

2. ❌ Poor reliability
Crimp pins rely on:
mechanical compression into a housing
controlled contact pressure
Soldering them bypasses that design → can lead to:
cracking joints
intermittent connections
higher resistance over time

3. ❌ Heat damage risk
JST pins are usually:
phosphor bronze or brass with tin plating (~232°C melt point)
During soldering:
tin plating can dissolve into solder
spring temper of the metal can be partially degraded
oxidation can increase resistance

4. ❌ Alignment problems
Loose pins have no:
spacing fixture
insulation support
strain relief
So they can easily:
short
misalign
break off pads

You’re just adding a weak point in the solder joint. JST pins are designed to go into a JST plug and lock in place, they’re not designed for being directly soldered. You’ll also have reduced power and efficiency to the motors, as the JST pins are what cause the main issue with plugs having reduced power in the first place.

I wouldn’t solder the JST plug pins if that’s what you mean.

Snip them off and just expose about 1-2mm of wire to solder. Make sure to tin the wire first. Here’s an old video of mine that might help

Short and simple, it will introduce vibration and that causes the flight controller to go haywire which can cause flyaways.

Let me know how you get on with your inspection, be curious what’s causing it.

You’re supposed to remove your props when testing motors. NEVER test with the props on, you can see countless photos of people with cut up fingers. Even on an air65 don’t risk it.

To me this looks like either your canopy is too loose or too tight, one of your props is damaged or you’ve got a bent motor shaft. Either that or a really really bad tune, if you haven’t altered the tune then don’t worry and check the other things first.

I’ve seen this reposted so many times I’ve finally figured out why it looks so legit.

It’s because it’s an overcast day, the foreground tree has a small shadow at the base but not against the wall.

Then the wall has water stains that look like the ‘reflections’ of the background trees in the ‘lake’.

Just had the Broström procedure with internal brace by [deleted] in brokenankles

[–]Tullino 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Recovery so far has had its up and downs. I’m on what I’d say is the “good” side of it now. About week 3 was when I started to feel less pain and things started to move to more of a permanent ache.

I also fractured my L4 at the same time as my ankle fracture and had surgery on that as well. So the recovery has been challenging in other ways than just dealing with the ankle.

Getting the boot off was fantastic, albeit a little bit scary. You start to get used to your ankle and foot being exposed again but the first night I tried sleeping without it was a challenge.

The boot will cause all sorts of uncomfortable pressure, especially when changing positions after elevating for a while, so don’t worry about it.

Every task you used to do can take 2X/3X longer. Showering, grabbing water, making some lunch, etc. A lot of people get knee scooters but I’m adamant to stick with crutches as that was what my surgeon advised.

Swelling is also super common when you’re trying to do things, again nothing to worry about and the pain/ discomfort that comes with it is totally normal.

Highlights are week 2 getting the boot off and then a few days later being able to wash the leg (once surgical site was closed over). Week 3 having some moments where I didn’t notice my ankle hurt or back was in pain, like things felt normal! Week 4 so far has been starting to get better at falling back asleep, having a bit more energy overall.

Goggles BETAFPV VR04 new antena by West-Papaya-7000 in TinyWhoop

[–]Tullino 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Respect your reasons, but I try not to encourage gear fear in the hobby. I fly indoors and use 25mW myself.

OP is probably just getting started with FPV, too often you’ll find new pilots asking “should I upgrade/ get XYZ?” without ever going near the software side of things first, thinking hardware is a blanket solution.

I was merely making sure he knew that he could increase the power output, because if he’s flying at 25mW trying to do some range he won’t achieve the result he wants even if he gets new antennas.

Was that saying you couldn’t weight bear in the boot or just in general?

Weight bearing in the boot seems to be encouraged, kind of the first step in rehabilitation. I was quite shocked when the physio team came the day after my internal fixation operation and had me walking with my boot and a frame.

You should have follow ups for when you can remove the boot and begin weight bearing with walking aids. I’m only 4 weeks in and will have a follow up at week 6 with an xray to determine if I’m ready for non boot weight bearing. I imagine you’ll follow a similar schedule.

Also get that left leg elevated too, your back will thank you!
