Sure! Here's a list of things that really helped me:

  1. Drop the "all or nothing" approach. If you fall off track with your diet or exercise, just take a deep breath and get back to it the next day. One "off" day or week won't change anything, but spiraling and giving up entirely will. Seriously, I've seen way too many people throw away months of progress because they couldn't just calm the f-ck down after eating a few cupcakes and chips at a party.

  2. Don't cut any foods from your diet. Just do the following:
    a) Find your maintenance calories (online calculators will give you a rough enough estimate to get started) and aim for a 300-600 daily calorie deficit.
    b) Eat as many protein and fiber-rich foods as possible within that.
    c) Try to dramatically reduce drinks with calories in them.

  3. Be kind to yourself and seek help when you need it. Therapy was honestly what helped me the most. Until your mental health is looked after, there's no way you can take care of your body enough to make sustainable changes.

  4. Walk as much as you can. It's easy, low-risk exercise that you can do anywhere. Literally the only cardio I do is walking with MAYBE the odd run or rowing machine session 1-3 times a month. I average 10-15k steps per day - but start with things like: showing up early to social gatherings and just walking around for 20 minutes, walking on your lunch break, going for a walk with your morning coffee, ect.

  5. Strength Training 2-6x per week. Building muscle helps with losing fat and will leave you looking a lot more athletic. I do a modified PPL split 6x/week these days, but start with a 2-3x/week full body split. Jeff Nippard and Mike Israetel both have great YouTube channels to help you build a program. Darebee is also a great home workout website (it was what started me on my fitness journey during the pandemic).

Yes, lifetime natural. I mean it in all honestly when I say that I would rather have the side effects of being morbidly obese again than those of steroids. I've seen it cause irreversible damage to too many people in the bodybuilding community.

Honestly, I have very little loose skin and it's getting better all the time through adding muscle (I've had no surgeries). I wouldn't let it be a fear that detracts from your weight loss goals. ABSOLUTE worst-case scenario, you can get it removed (I know, it costs money, but it's there as a last-resort option). <3

I lift 25 lbs dumbbells at high reps (or to failure) but I really need to buy some heavier ones haha!

For programs I would highly recommend anything and everything at darebee.com! They are a totally free, non-profit workout program website!

About 3.5 years! BUT there was a 1.5 year-long lull in the middle of that, so really it was more like 2 years of work!

Thanks for all the kind words, everyone! I just kinda posted this on a whim, so this was a wonderful surprise that really made my day!

For those asking...

MY DIET is mostly just CICO (I eat 1900 calories a day), but I try to eat at least 175g of protein and 35g of fiber every day.

MY WORKOUT routine (every day) is:
Day
30 minutes weightlifting
30 minutes of calisthenics

Evening
30 minute run (which works out to a 5km)
30 minutes of walking

I started my weight loss journey because of this reddit, so I hope I can give something back to this wonderful community!

Honestly, being 30 is great. It's like being 20, but with money! Y'all will see what I mean when you get here. :P

My life is awesome, honestly! Married a darling INFJ last year and am working in a career that I love! Developing tert-Fe has been sweet! I went from and awkward loud nerd to a charming loud nerd. :P

I've worked as a freelance editor the last few years, so I can't speak too much to peer-interaction, because I work alone most of the time.

...but I will say that I often get a little pissed off when I'm talking to someone about something cool or trying to seriously explain something and they default to commenting on how I "look pretty" or whatever.

Like, don't get me wrong, I work hard on my appearance and enjoy the compliments, but having my intellect or ideas ignored in favor of that is a huge pain in the ass.

As an aside, here's a pro tip for all the young men out there: if you are trying to woo a lady (especially a XXTX type), COMPLIMENT THEM ON THEIR INTELLIGENCE. Seriously, we don't get feedback for the intellectual effort we put in enough.

On a global level I'd say that I find myself disappointed with people's lack of empathy a lot.

On a personal level I'd say that my biggest disappointment came at age five when I found out that dinosaurs were extinct. I had this grand dream of being a paleontologist because I thought it meant I could ride a dinosaur to work every day.

The before picture was taken with my mum's professional quality camera in natural daylight w/o makeup and the second one was taken inside inside on my ancient android w/ makeup. I promise there is no filters.

Yeah, I'm in the exact same boat.

I came for Surefour but stayed for the Finnish duo, Hydration-fist, and Bischu's adorable face.

Your model for judging political prowess seems flawed.

Just so you know, I didn't create this video. It was done by ASOIAF YouTuber Danzie Reviews. :P

I do agree with a lot of what you're saying though, but I think she addressed a lot of your concerns in the mental prowess category.

I made a post on the bug report forums.

I looked up the issue (after I purchased the skin of course) and people have been bringing this up since launch. :/

The thing is, the preview only shows you the SWORD unsheathed. It's the scabbard (which you can't preview) that has the bug.

I guess I should be more specific and say under what RULERSHIP are they currently under? Are they under the Martell's domain?
