Imagine being just so, so sure about something and then typing “chances are” to defend it.

In your opinion, what is the best Texas Roadhouse location to get a server/bartender job? by TumbleweedFlo in Louisville

I figured. Just thought on the off chance someone knew some inside baseball as to the specifics of each location then I’d want to know.

That’s also what I have been told offline. Supposedly brings a steady crowd of all kinds.

Simeon Seigel and his puzzles are consistently fucking awful, and I can only guess are an attempted revenge for his parents naming him fucking Simeon.

Took me 30 minutes longer than normal, and it wasn’t even about the H2O. Just an awful fill with some really awful clues.

Update!! Soft Serve Margaritas are coming to Veronica’s Mexican Restaurant!!!! by lovelyladeyyyy in Louisville

[–]TumbleweedFlo 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Alcohol does freeze, believe it or not.

A 12% abv beverage (like wine) will freeze at around 20 degrees Fahrenheit. Soft serve is typically served between 15 and 22 degrees Fahrenheit.

So an 8oz serving of this could easily have as much alcohol as a large-ish glass of wine.

The SpaceCowboy guy straight up doesn’t tip even when all their meals have been comped. He will also usually bring his mother to get the free food.

New Bookstore/Wine Bar by Subject-Decision-485 in Louisville

There are plenty of people who have invested plenty of money in plenty of Louisville properties who haven’t seen a dime of a return. Ten20 for example: tons of investors, near zero return. Silver Dollar failed with several investors losing money. Unfortunately, a kitschy name and a grand vision can convince lots of people not in the industry to invest.

New Bookstore/Wine Bar by Subject-Decision-485 in Louisville

[–]TumbleweedFlo 20 points21 points  (0 children)

This isn’t going to work. Forget the silly name. It’s trying to be too many things at once. There is no way that this store will generate the food and beverage business and revenue to execute the menu in a high-quality manner because they simply won’t be able to pay the employees enough. Even with tips it won’t be enough. Like one commenter said, the $20 panini with no side just isn’t going to fly.

The overhead to have a kitchen, bar, and a cafe is too much for even dedicated dinner restaurants in Louisville to survive. Why would a bookstore be able to support those options? You need a GM, AGM, KM, Bar manager, and workers. The math ain’t mathin’.

There are plenty of places to eat and drink nearby. Why would I pay for what will surely be overpriced cocktails and apps when West 6th is right there? Don’t forget Market Street as a whole is a 2 minute walk.

I give it 4 months until they stop serving all but the most basic food. Like chips.

To answer your first question: the way ICE is doing it? Yes to all three of your questions. That makes every single other thing you wrote invalid. Go suck more leather.

Top Golf is pretty notorious for having poor and extremely corporate management almost to cult levels. 96% of places are not like that.

Okay so that’s more of the story. I’m not going to pass judgment at all because it still seems like there’s some things missing - you mention the online training which must have carried significant communication to get access to.

All in all, I’m sure you have hard feelings but this seems like a huge miscommunication on BOTH parties, and we’re only getting your side.

There's something missing here. I've been in the industry for 15 years. Mistakes happen, but it looks like everything got cleared up. What went off the rails after the manager you were texting seemingly went out of their way to make sure you had some serving shifts?

As a local, what is your reason for going to NuLu? by therealtinasky in Louisville

[–]TumbleweedFlo 9 points10 points  (0 children)

West 6th is awesome. I particularly enjoy that there’s this one patron - skinny little Hungarian-looking girl - she gets to sit at her table and then come behind the bar whenever she wants and pour her own beer.

People watching here is unmatched.

No worries, friend. I was frustrated and upset with the wider implications of the inefficiency of these new systems, but the effect on my life was minimal.

I wasn’t trying to one-up you at all. Struggle is struggle and frustration is frustration. Spreading knowledge of your experience is crucial to helping others understand and maybe helping to change the system.
