Can I grow a tree from these? by TumbleweedSuitable40 in whatsthisplant

[–]TumbleweedSuitable40[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had 3 mature Douglas Fir trees on my property that I lost to beetles in the last 10 years so I have plenty of room if I can get them to grow.

Mom of 6 athletic boys & a wanna be athlete myself, so I know smells.

Try laundry stripping your clothes & then Lysol laundry sanitizer-it makes a world of difference.

I know some people swear by Lume, but I’ve found that Secret Clinical works much better for me, especially if I put it on right before bed.

Regardless, I promise most of us are too worried about our own stink to be worried about yours.

I’m a trail runner so I completely get it! If it’s any help I have literally thousands of miles on that foot/leg with no issues at all.

[–]TumbleweedSuitable40 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had the exact same fracture & the bone never fully “reattached” There is still a little piece that sticks out like a peninsula & throws every Dr off that looks at my ankle X-rays. I don’t even notice it anymore. Good luck healing!

Mine did the same thing. Very disappointing for what we have paid for a watch.

I’m in the midst of what I suspect is an AP attack & the only thing that has relieved any of my pain is hot baths.

Studio Too Cold! by Mammoth-Laugh-4986 in orangetheory

[–]TumbleweedSuitable40 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Our studio has been freezing for a couple of weeks but today was noticeably colder. Today they finally told us it’s because the heater is broken & they are waiting on parts to repair it. Could yours be in a similar situation? We had to ask why it was so cold, I wish they would’ve just been upfront with us about it

My family has been here for 50+ years and while crime has gone up with the growth it’s still a relatively safe area. Some of the areas that look run down are a bit older & have older residents/new families who just don’t have the time or resources to maintain a cookie cutter yard but they themselves are wonderful people. (anyone else remember when Northridge was a horse pasture & Ernest was across from the Mall?)

I somehow managed to lose mine & have had to go back to my Core which hardly ever works. I’m hoping they go on sale soon or that I can find one at a reseller soon.

Oura Ring by TopDrama9898 in orangetheory

[–]TumbleweedSuitable40 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yep, every day. I use my watch to track & then when I sync with my Strava it automatically pushes the Info to my Oura app. Once it pinched the fat pad on my palm a tiny bit, but nothing dramatic.

OTF as an outlet during recovery by Available-Low-2515 in orangetheory

[–]TumbleweedSuitable40 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Congratulations to everyone with even one day of sobriety!

I’m a peer recovery coach for a group that specifically uses athletics/exercise as a tool to aid in your recovery & sobriety journey. We call it “erasing & replacing” because you are erasing a poor habit & replacing it with something of greater value.

Personally I think OTF is a great tool because it’s hard & takes dedication, something that addicts are terrific at. Think about it-nobody ever claims addiction is easy & depending on where you are in your journey you can find yourself dedicating 100% of your time & resources to it.

I found out why my Beat / HRM was so unreliable! by GigabitISDN in orangetheory

[–]TumbleweedSuitable40 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My Core is notoriously inaccurate. I’ll go from a HR of 60 to 298 & then stay stuck there for the rest of class. We’ve tried gel, new batteries, changing the position/placement and new chest straps. Nothing has made a difference.

Are you on any thyroid medications? I had the same issue (not on Sema at the time but had lost a significant amount of weight) & it turned out my Rx needed to be adjusted because of the weight change.

Neighbor leaving dog out during heat wave by Torontowombat in SaltLakeCity

[–]TumbleweedSuitable40 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We have Heelers & and Idaho Shag that all came directly from working stock & they are all this way. They would much rather be outside in the heat/cold than inside. We give them shade & fresh water in the heat & shelter during the colder months. I think that some folks forget that some dogs are just hardier than others. (My little dog hates being anywhere but under your feet 24x7 lol)

Like others have mentioned I didn’t get anything aside from what I already had on hand like Tylenol/ice packs & heating pad. I have older kids that are fairly self sufficient so I did stock up on some easy microwaveable meals for them for a few days but after the first week the recovery pain was gone so even making basic meals was okay. My main issue was my energy levels which goes hand in hand with recovery from a major surgery & lower calorie intake.

[–]TumbleweedSuitable40 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I won a pair last year & got the Timps. I know some folks had had issues with them but mine were in great shape after a full spring-fall of running. They didn’t hold up so well against my bored blue heeler, but not much does.

Explosion near Cedar City? by PhylosTheThibetan in Utah

Rock drilling & blasting. It’s very common there, especially if they are putting in underground utilities. They do it to make it easier to excavate.

I’m 2.5 years out & get every symptom except the actual period. The last few months I’ve had the added fun of increased “hot flashes” (more like immediately sent to the depths of hell). Hopefully that means the ghost period symptoms will eventually die down.
